With only one Champion. & Hearns waiting in the wings. Doubtful Leonard would have gotten an immediate rematch. Hearns was 32-0 at the time & most likely would've had an agreement to face the winner of Leonard-Duran.

I doubt it really with all that money on the table. Leonard and Duran were the names and Hearns even though he went on to be great would a been another contender at that stage of his career albeit with a 32-0 record.

Jack Dempsey when he was in LA tried to show off in front of one of his Hollywood friends by sparring with Bert Colima aka Manuel martinez. During the session Colima hurt Dempsey. Dempsey immediately wanted to pay him about $100 for another round. Colimas manager refused because he wanted a contract for a fight between both fighters.

I am not sure if it was a cut or knockdown so if anyone knows please post

Not necessarily mate. Leonard-Hearns would no longer assume the mantle of 'superfight'. Tommy in role of upstart challenger who many think doesn't quite belong in there with Leonard, Ray himself with slightly less motivation and over-confident. The result could be different.
