I think you make a very good point. The saying goes, "you gotta beat the best to be the best." But to consider Hatton the best in the world for beating the best.. it's 1 fight. Anything can go wrong and put a guy off his game even a touch.

I think Ricky would go from 8 or 9 (where he is in most p4p lists) up to top 3... probably be like:

1) Juan Manuel Marquez
2) Ricky Hatton
3) Manny Pacquaio

Then, if hatton were to beat either another quaility opponent in an impressive manner or beat another pound 4 pound fighter, itd be safe to put him on top. I think being number 1 doesn't happen over night. In other sports, you can be the best by beating the best. In the fight game, it takes build up. Beating the best out there and in between polishing off very good up and comers or established, quality vets.

Also, I worry about Golden Boy.. They have garnered a lot fo power in boxing and now with Oscar out of fighting and able to promote full time, its gonna be dicey.

hatton had already been dominated...that can not be said of hopkins, JMM and mosley

 

There was no domination going on in that fight. PBF was getting the best of Hatton but not dominating him.

But if you insist a KO is domination, then you have to admit Pac was already dominated twice. Which is it:think
