I can already see the naysayers discrediting Golovkin's victory over Lemieux

I can already see the stans claim Golovkin is better than Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran after beating this can of poutine.

In the uk golovkin is 1/14 to win, to put that into context brook is only 1/12 to beat chaves, so you ****ers better give brook credit when he wins his supposedly easy fight

Ward will always have a stain on his win over the former LHW #1 Dawson for fighting him at a weight he hadn't been at in 6 years, very solid win, but stained nonetheless, they could have at least met in the middle at 172-173 to make itan even playing field

 

GGG should he win would deserve credit for unifying titles, as far as simply beating Lemieux as an opponent not so much. Lemieux isn't some top tier fighter, just a guy with a vacant belt about to lose it before fading back into obscurity.

They said the same thing about Geale, only GGG could beat him, he's a top MW til he got destroyed by Cotto. The same senario of trying to overhype a guy to make what's expected look better.

Chaves is a solid all around fighter who is ranked #7 in the world by Ring and 9 by boxrec. Good title defense no doubt.

Lemuiex is a noted dangerous puncher who holds a title and is ranked #4 in the world by Ring and #5 by boxrec. Of course that is a better opponent.

The fact that GGG is favored so much just tells me what the odds makers and public think of GOLOVKIN.

That being said, I do like Chaves and have no problem at all with Brook giving him a shot. It seems like the best option available at this time.
