I can never understand hating Ali

  1. All jokes aside, You do know this was all for show right. Frazier have gave several interviews praising Ali. There was alot of love between them. Frazier wife and kids were close to Ali's family. I think Joe was more hurt about the city he helped as a champion forgetting him.

I only went after Frazier to understand why people defend him.

FYI on the Playboy Interview. I think the media would have known if it inspired a crime. Plus, the guy was trying to make a point. Whatever he says, he is going to be hated. All his life, people told him interracial marriage is wrong and now he says he only wants black women......they hate him for that.

The world is bio-polar gentleman. Thats the point ali was trying to make.

I think that we get exactly the spread of opinion on Ali that you would expect to be honest.

Then why didn't he simply say that?

I haven't seen anyone say they hate Ali because he wants only Black women. I don't think anyone cares what kind of women he wants.

The point Ali was making was that race mixers and people who dated or married outside outside of their Muslim religion should be killed.

He went on to say that if a person knows of this and does nothing they should also be killed.

If you approve of that- say so, but don't try to change what Ali said. He has had 40 years to recant his words and he never has.

Blacks commit around 8,000 homicides per year in the U.S. Do you think the media sifts through each one of these to see if the perpetrators read the Playboy interview?

  5. No one sane would take the comment he made seriously though. Anyone who was influenced would brag about what influenced them to commit the crime. Dropping his name and the media would have a field day.

Just look at ali closest friends. He was trying to shock people. Its part of his character. You remind me of the "Video Game" causes violence people.

Ali did many cruel things through out the first two thirds of his career and said many things many times that alienated many … starting w the 1996 Olympics when he openly displayed his Parkenson's as he lit the torch there began a rebranding of him, airbrushing a ton of things he said and did in his past .. that's why there is a lot of bad feelings … I'm not passing judgement on motives, simply stating the history ...

  7. You all agree he did more good then harm to boxing though right?.

    I agree.

Whether he was a devil or an angel, it is easy to understand why some people dont like him.

Ali was heavily into the Nation of Islam during this period. That sect came with a stringent 'pricelist' You could n't pick and choose which tract you could follow and which one you could n't. It's well known that his views have moved on since those days, anyhow.

Damn near impossible to defend these comments, I reckon...yet some choose to defend them, and even more than this, deify the man who uttered them. I can't understand that.

Personally I wouldn't like anybody who held these views. Imo this is not dis-similar to the hate filled bile spewed in Nazi Germany in the 1930s...just from a different angle, imo.

  15. Hey clown. The Nazi killed 11 million people. How are you going to compare that to Muhammad Ali doing an interview in a porno mag.
Read some books about survivors and see what an insult it is. The Nation is no crazier then any other religious group out there. That Nazi Germany comment is stupid.
