Canelo was dwarfed by GGG as well, and out sized by huge amounts.

GGG is old as Noah and ripe for a real whooping @160. His body doesn't have the energy it once had especially draining to corpse levels to make 160. @ 168 or 175 GGG would be a different guy IMO just like how BHOP extended his career moving up so should GGG.

Jr not only has the size and frame if GGG he has the energy, tenacity and power to shake up Canelo.

Groves, Billy Joe and Degale are harder to pin down then Canelo they move at a much greater speed. Canelo doesn't even mind being pinned down he loves fighting in the pocket and walks himself to the ropes quite a bit.

You don't want a pocket fight with Young Christopher when you don't have the ammo. Canelo will not take Jr's shots as well as Jr takes his. At any weight Jr is the bigger sturdier and more heavy hitting bloke.

Canelo does have terrific defense though and maybe he just doesn't get hit and wins by outclassing Jr.

Canelo isn't a bad stylistic match up for Jr but still not made to order like GGG would be

Good points on Canelo pocket fighting and sometimes falling back into the ropes. The thing is, Canelo does that when he wants to or needs to, its not necessarily his default style. If Canelo found that fighting in the pocket or going to the ropes against Eubank wasnt working, in my opinion he would just stop doing it, and start circling. He's shown high level ability of doing either one when he wants to, in my opinion.

I think against Eubank he would likely find going to the ropes not favorable, and simply not do it. But I think he could probably fight in the pocket with Eubank effectively, at least enough to punctuate pivotal moments within rounds. Canelo is a much better combination puncher than Eubank... and as long as he continues circling after the pocket exchanges, I think he would be fine.

We have different definitions of being dwarfed. To me... saying Golovkin dwarfed Canelo is pretty hyperbolic in my opinion. 2 to 3 inches is a pretty standard height difference in boxing, and I dont know how reasonable it is to look at Golovkin and Canelo, with Canelo likely as heavy as Golovkin, if not heavier, and then say G 'dwarfed' Canelo. Thats a complete exaggeration to me.

Eubanks height isnt something that out of the ordinary for Canelo... hes had plenty of opponents within an inch of Eubank, or taller than Eubank.

I just dont see the basis as to thinking size is going to be that big a factor here.

I do think Eubanks gas tank can make for some interesting rounds after the 7th or so... which is why I want to see the fight.

It would be interesting to see Canelo deal with Eubanks aggression once Canelo starts to tire a bit.

On the other hand, I also think Eubanks tenacity and workrate are getting overrated as well. Hes not a Margarito or Kirkland in there. And what I mean by that is hes not an offensive machine that is going to throw and throw and throw whether he has a target or not and whether he gets countered or not. If he was, he would have a much better chance.

But hes not. He can be contained by shifting targets and by countering effectively.

    But thats just my opinion.

Hopefully they fight and we can actually get a chance to see how big an impression Eubanks size and supposed aggression would make on Canelo.
