This isnt a Pacquiao thread .

But if anyone can tell me of another fighter who has hit harder as they have moved up , then I would love to know.

Fighters when moving up can get physically stronger or more solid, but their natural punching weight doesnt generally move .

Looking at Mannys last fight he was close to stopping Margarito with 10oz gloves on.

I am happy to be educated , but I really cannot think of anyone.

i dont agree , Tommy was a huge puncher at 147 , and carried it well up to 175 , Tommy's frame filled out , but he never actually hit any harder .

While this doesn't conclusively prove anything, this is why people are suspicious of him for taking roids.

No way. He was the hardest puncher ever at 147 - 154 but certainly not at 160 and above. At 175 especially he had to rely to his skills much more than on power.

They fought with 8 oz. gloves.

I'm sure it has something to do with that fact that he landed 400+ power punches on Margarito. Shane took Margarito out with just over 100. Manny landed 195 power punches on Oscar and couldn't knock him down, and 275+ on Cotto without putting him to sleep.

He has power, but what we're seeing is his volume punching.

How has his punching power improved?

He hit Margarito 400 times to the head and wasn't close to dropping him. The reason Margarito was close to being stopped was because he was hit so many damn times. He hit Tony FOUR times as much Mosley, who stopped him in 9.

He dropped Cotto twice in the early rounds but couldn't get him out of there until the 12th and the ref could have let it continue.

He dropped Marquez THREE times in their first fight at 125 and ONCE at 130.

He stopped Barerra at 125 but not at 130.

Oscar was weight drained to hell and was a punch bag to Pacquiao and never went down and quit on his stool.

Hatton was nearly ko'd by a retired lightweight 2 fights before Pacquiao.

So, how in the name of **** has his power INCREASED?!

You haters want to pull down someone's achievements so badly you'll twist anything to make your case. It's pathetic. Grow the **** up.

I hate it when you do those shits that are like clay that take about 3 rolls of paper to wipe clean.

exactly. if you look at the stats, his punch volume AND power have risen significantly, not to mention his stamina, bouncing around the ring all night long!!! how can he carry all that extra weight AND be faster, fitter and hit harder at a higher volume?.... oh I know..... ''hes a phenomenon''.

how can people dismiss the thought that he might be on something and just put it down to him being special?!! Im not saying he is, but people should at least consider the fact that its possible!!

you are missing my point entirely.

I am asking if this has happend before and your points above are not in the right direction.

He clearly hits harder now than when he did at say 126 -130.

I am asking who else has done this.

Pac was alot more powerful when he was at 122 than he is today. Just compare his KO ratio from 122 to his KO ratio from 147 and 150.

you think a guy like Clottey would've lasted 12 round with Pac when he was at 122 and 126? No way. He would've ran him over like he did to Ledwaba and Barrera. Don't forget Pac almost stopped Marquez in a single round. The smaller version of Pac is also the only man to ever knock down or out iron chinned Morales, and he did it twice... I think he knocked him down like 4 or 5 times in all

If Pac had the same devastating power today that he had in his later days at 112 and then 122, he'd be even better than he is now.

Look at him dismantle Sasakul by using only his power.

The biggest difference is that he isnt a one handed puncher anymore, not his power.
He always had power in his left hand, but now he hits you with punches from weirder angles, instead of relying as heavily on a left hand that you can see coming easier
