How many greats at their own respective weight had to move or did move up? The quality of opposition at 160 when Hopkins was reigning was equally as poor as GGG, it has every bearing on them as middleweights. What Hopkins did after is or should be judged separately and Golovkin should not be held to that as there have been many greats at 160 who never moved up.

Kovalev was 2-3 punches from getting KTFO'd by Yarde and retiring. Then he had 3 weeks of rest before going back into training. But you can probably count those 2 weeks as him binge eating and drinking to celebrate. Then we find out that there's a rehydration clause. Kovalev misses weight and comes into the fight w/ zero power.
People who are full of excuses and can't give credit when it's do or admit when they're wrong are trash in general. Sadly it's a common theme on this forum.

Hopkins dared to be great. Golovkin only fought good opposition in the last two years. No Lara, Charlo, Froch, etc.
