I mean that he is 38 years old already now. Besides, he started his boxing career at 130. This is unbelievable. If Crawford beats Canelo tomorrow then it will make me more and more surprise.
Fingers crossed Nopporn but i think he'll lose the decision , Canelo will pile on the pounds and will be more like a light heavy by first bells and be too powerful for Bud imo unfortunately mate .
He was over 160lbs on fight night for his welterweight fights. He was then reportedly unofficially 169lbs against Madrimov at junior-middleweight. Crawford did not have to put on any weight at all to make 168, he was already there.
I think that Canelo will beat Crawford too but by way of K.O. not decisions. He will work at the body to slow him down before tearing him apart in the late round.
Yeah, the amazing thing with Crawford isn't that he's at 168 now, but that he's been so much lower for most of his career. He has about the same walk around weight Canelo has, but just has cut so much more previously.
Nah, at 5´8 hes too small. Hes almost the same height as Canelo, who is an anomaly at these weight classes. I think Canelo is shorter than all of the current champions from heavyweight down to lightweight, with the exception of Tank. So you have to go down all the way to 135lbs to find someone shorter. Ironically, Tank himself is short for lightweight.
Whether you are a fan of Crawford or not you have to give him some respect and credit for his discipline, dedication, and clean living which enabled him to fight relatively comfortably at lower weights. I think this fight will show that Crawford is a real middleweight (but maybe not a real super middle) now and is very strong. I believe the worst outcome for Crawford is a decision loss and it may be very controversial.
He turned pro at 135 and technically he only ever weighed within the lightweight limit six times He was coming in as high as 153 at 135 157 at 140 169.8 at 154 Here he is six years ago weighing in the ''160s-170s'' looking as lean as a greyhound This content is protected ''This is the first fight where I don't have to cut muscle'' -- Terence Crawford His S&C trainer ''It's a much easier cut because he doesn't have to cut so much muscle'' This content is protected So he's still cutting muscle. His S&C coach said he's still fast and explosive and can maintain the pace for all 12 rounds against big punching SMWs who are bigger than Clenelo Weigh in He looks super lean with extremely low body fat weighing a couple of pounds less than GGG's very consistent fight night weight. Looking crazy lean like that weighing 35lbs more than the weight you started out at is crazy This content is protected Bomac “Man, listen, he should’ve been at 168 a long time ago,” McIntyre told The Ring. “But I was making him take advantage of ‘35, ‘40, ‘47.” He was a huge weight bully beating up much smaller or smaller guys or ones roughly his size and he has never been undersized at any weight or looked so or ever been at a reach disadvantage How many times has he been outweighed by even 5lbs or more? Very few I should imagine How many times has he been outweighed by 10lbs? I'll hazard a guess never and chances are he won't be tonight If he weighed 167.5 for the real weigh in looking like he did on the scales how much does he weigh here? There will likely only be a few pounds in it tonight if Clenelo is telling the truth about his fight night weight Ceremonial weigh in This content is protected How can you move up six divisions and never be much smaller whilst still looking very lean and never once being at a reach disadvantage in 42 fights?
He's a very skilled fighter, but his standout trait may just be his ability to cut crazy amounts of weight and still perform. Had he been a Pac kind of fighter he would have faced guys like Benavidez already years back. Instead he stayed at WW. And is never going to face Benavidez.
I think he's a brilliant fighter and for sure one of the most skilled in the world but this narrative he's been the smaller guy beating up bigger ones is simply untrue nor even close to being so I think Benavidez is naturally much bigger than him but he's a big weight bully himself. But yeah, Manny was actually fighting bigger or much bigger guys when he moved up in weight, in their backyards, and often whilst being at a big/huge reach disadvantage, and he did actually fight a lot of punchers his size, bigger or much bigger. Two very different things
