Calzaghe is only 3 years younger than Jones. I certainly wouldn't claim that Calzaghe would definitely easily beat Jones...but I would say he made the point that he potentially could have beaten Jones had they fought in both their respective primes.

This is one of those circular arguments that's been going around the board since Saturday (and even before).

One side claims the other side thinks the fight proves Calzaghe is better than Jones. So they start a thread disputing this.

But only a few people on the other side would claim this fight proves dominance of all time.

So it's really one small part of the pro-Jones segment arguing against a very small part of the pro-Calzaghe segment. But it gets blown up as though you're either on one side or the other.

But most of us realize the truth: This fight ONLY proves that Calzaghe is superior to Jones NOW, AT THIS MOMENT. Any other assumptions is playing in fantasy land.

And I think that's all there is to say on the subject.

Well said and absolutely agree. No-one knows one way or the other who would have won at some fantasy fight.

It means nothing, and the same can be said about SRR versus RJJ.

Roy is a fighter who had some boxing skills but his style was something that suited a fighter with his amazing athletic abilities with his speed and not only speed but power. now that his power is gone hes left with only his speed and the same skills but hes just a half a step slower. and when you do things the wrong way you pay for it as he knows now. His style use to suit his amazing physical assets.
