And he retired after Pac beat him. Same w/ Barrera, dela Hoya, and Hatton. Marquez was glorified when he survived Pac. That's how great Pac is.
And also doning those metal knuckles in his gloves! It's good nobody noticed it on his fight with HATTON. :hat
Good for him. Then if they retired after Pac would you say they were close to retiring when Pac fought them. Making them shot?
He made all of them shot. He knocked out/knocked down Morales who was previously never knocked down. He displayed his boxing skills against Barrera in the 2nd fight in a pretty lopsided fight. Hatton was unbeaten previously in 140. Dela Hoya has never experienced a onesided beatdown before Pac.
Good facts. So you're saying EM,MAB2, and ODLH were prime when Pac beat them, then the next day the were shot?
He was glorified when he outboxed him twice. There's a difference. Anyways, Pac is undeniably an all time great, and I agree with this thread. He's better than most of us could've ever imagined, and is truly a physical marvel in that he seems to maintain all of his abilities regardless of what weight he's fighting at. That said, he was not small for a 126 or 130 pounder. This misconception comes from the fact that he started off so low in weight. He was a kid, people. He was a 16 year old, extremely weight drained kid. Let's stop acting as if he's a natural Flyweight. It would be the same as suggesting Duran was a natural Bantamweight because he started off there at 16 years old.
This is what I hate. As good as Pac is, no matter what he does, his fans always find a way to overrate him and start this whole cycle all over again.
And you excluded Hatton? Yes, I think Pac primarily contributed to their demise in boxing. Don't you think so? They all retired after that. MAB was never the same after that.
Morales was already well on his way out. Pac just kicked him out the door. And let's not forget the first fight, when Morales was already starting his decline. De La Hoya was a walking corpse, anyone who has watched that fight and says otherwise is simply blinded and/or stubborn. The Hatton win was impressive, but once again, I saw it coming a mile away. Hatton just isn't that good to be considered so highly a win, even if he was the bigger man. Still a very good win considering how it was done though. That along with Barrera I were Pac's best IMO(as I didn't have him winning either fight with Marquez).
Pac did what he has to do. And if these guys didn't come prepared or ****ed up their weight management, it's not Pac's problem. The fact is after they fought Pac, they retired and they were not the same after that.
