You can say he was a weight drained kid but he was still the lineal & WBC flyweight champ at 18 regardless.

Morales was past it but lets not forget Pac's own disadvantages going into the fight. He wasn't prime either in terms of skill, it was his first fight at the weight, he got headbutt and FORCED to wear gloves he clearly wasn't comfortable in.

DLH was shot blah blah, 18/20 experts picked him. Only in hindsight can people justify their excuses.

You saw Hatton coming a mile away hence why you mentioned Pac wouldnt last 4 rounds with him :)

Very true. I didn't think Morales was shot as much as Pacquiao made him look shot. Regardless, I agree that Manny was not prime Manny yet. Pretty one dimensional. I think it was the beginning of the mastering of the right hand but it was still not as potent as it is today. His footwork was not as good as it is today. His balance was not as good as it is today. Prime Pacquiao would not just beat a prime Morales but smoke him worse than he did in the last fight.

They weren't necessarily ill-prepared (Morales anyway), most of them were just past their prime. It's not Pac's fault that he beats up a lot of past prime fighters, but it should be taken into consideration when you guys are heaping this kind of praise on him and comparing him favorably to past greats in their primes.

maybe five or six years from now we'll be reading things like JM Lopez versus Pac at 135/140. then the old-timers will crucify the lopeztards for even thinking that lopez could hang with pac inside the ring

You're a ****ing liar, just like the rest of these ****ing *******s. I called Pacquiao to overwhelm and TKO Hatton by the 9th round in every recent prediction thread. You can kindly **** off now.

You should take in to consideration as well that Pacquiao was not at his best yet. You honestly think the Pacquiao that fought Morales is the same Pacquiao that is fighting today? The Pacquiao that fought Morales was not in his prime as well. We have witnessed a massive imporvement in every aspect of Manny's game as well as his physical growth and maturity. In the first fight there were factors that hampered Manny as well; the gloves issue, the headbutt and the fact that he was not adjusted to the weight. If you are going defend one fighter you have to look at the flip side. I see your arguments but you make it sound like prime Morales beats a prime Pacquiao which is not going to even be close. Like I said prime for prime Pacquiao sparks Morales easy. Why iwas Morales shot at 30 when Manny is in his prime. Pac is a freak and will be looked at as the fighter with more longevity and durability than his counterparts.

When he fought Barrera the first time he definitely looked smaller than Marco. He might have looked more chiseled, but there was no doubting who the more established fighter at the weight was.

Yeah, many people only considered barrera, morales, and marquez's disadvantages without considering pac had a lot of disadvantages as well namely he went in there with these mexicans while coming up in weight, and not yet at his prime, pac's prime is today skill-wise and athleticism-wise. though he was already becoming lineal-weight champs at a young age, he wasn't at his prime then

Hatton didn't go down from a punch. He was shot by a tranquilizer before the last punch landed!
