I have been hating on Rios and hoping for a brutal stoppage ever since the whole Roach imitation thing but after tonight I can't. Yeah, he's still a scumbag, but he's a scumbag with a positively GRANITE ****ing jaw (the number of times his head was bouncing around from 3 hit combos with seemingly no effect) that after initially seeming dismissive of Alvarado then finishes off his interview with "**** it" if the crowd wants it, mike wants, and the managers want it then he wants it.
Bam Bam delivers match him well (dont put him against outboxers) and he will give us exciting fights for sure
Yeah, say what you want about him, but he has a great attitude when it comes to fighting. He's set himself up for a Pacquiao fight, me thinks.
That whole Roach thing with Margarito was misunderstood. But anyway Rios did really well tonight. The trembling, which what it was, not mocking the shaking of parkinsons. Is common place with Mexicans. Its was "Oh...... I'm Scarred" Shaking. Neither Rios or Margarito made fun of Roach.
Yes, the kids sense of humor gets him into trouble, but he's a ****ing warrior with a granite chin thunderous right hand and left hook and the will to fight and beat anyone he steps in the ring with.
rios is amazing, can't hate on him anymore too after last night. It looks like he was losing, alvarado was using his head stepping back a bit during those infights to get the better of the exchanges but rios just kept on coming forward not even stepping back a bit to get some leverage on his punches. He truly is cut from the cloth of the margarito school of boxing. He is still a crazy punk though, with all that moaning like a woman before the fight. The guy seems like a psycho, perfect fit for a cartel dude if he wasn't boxing he could be chopping heads out there in mexico
First Rios cannot make 135 anymore, second Rios has moved onto bigger and better fights and third Abril is a stylistic nightmare for Brandon. Unless Rios can catch him with something lucky Brandon just doesn't have the style to beat him. TR wont make the mistake of putting Brandon in the ring with anyone even remotely close to Abril's style again.
Been a fan of Rios since Peterson and he never let me down. Fights with his heart on his sleeve. And his Chin is nothing short of amazing.
