How can fury be the best and not be elite?! Doesnt make any sense.
Elite : a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society.

In terms of hw he has prob the most ability which means in hw terms he is most definitley elite

What would you rather people say then? It's an appropriate expression to use. It means actually judging ability based on watching fights rather than just a 'CV' which can easily be manipulated by a canny promoter.

fan boys are good at it
i will take a cv over many untrained eyes
three good opponents between fury and wilder and thats nearly 80 fights between them
what are your eyes telling you about that

I am not disregarding a fighter's CV totally, just know that it can be manipulated. Joshua has an impressive CV for the modern era, but it's a very well picked list of opponents who he faced at an opportune time. It's also important to note that he doesn't have a good 'away win' on his CV. Every single fight has been weighted in his favour either by being the home fighter in the UK or the main fighter of the bill.. ie Ruiz 2 and Ruiz 1.

I think people that understand the sport to a decent degree, so most people on this forum, would know that a CV doesn't tell the whole story. It is part of the picture. Same way watching a fighter and analysing his fights is part of the picture. Neither on their own stands up as a conclusive analysis.

Nothing wrong with staying on the line after punching, it why you're doing it that matters.

I don't think we have any elite fighters tbh although Fury and Talor are closest we have to elite.
Warrington and Joshua and BJS are all world class fighters there's no doubting that.
If you went back a few year you could of had Frampton as elite.

Saunders as potential to be dame as Fury.

Nobody has beaten Wilder prior to Fury as he fought bunch a nobodies and ducked Wlad, AJ and Whyte. Wilder is basically Charles Martin with cherry picked opposition (most would back Martin against all of Wilders opposition except maybe Ortiz - which is more to do with overrated media repuation than what he has done in the ring).

Sorry I completely disagree with you. Comparing Wilder and Martin is ridiculous in my opinion! Anyway, we are poles apart on this so probably stop there.. until next week when we inevitably have the same debate again :D

I don't really know what you are talking about here

We're not talking about them though, it's a whole different debate. We're talking, in this particular discussion, about Joshua/Fury and also current British fighters.

Depends what your own criteria is to class a fighter as elite..Joshua fury and Taylor are universally thought of as being either number 1-2 in their divisions and have proved it by the fighters they've beat.fury and Taylor are even on some top ten p4p lists which is fair enough but I wouldn't have either that high for now anyway.the winner of AJ v fury & Taylor v Ramirez would have solid claims for a p4p place imo.
