I can't see any heavyweight ever beating The tyson from 86-88.

TRUE-TRUE-TRUE-TRUE-Tyson was over-rated, and from 85-88 beat up a lot of Tomato Cans, guy's that were there to be sacrificed, and 37yr old Auto Mechanics, that needed extra cash, he had a difficult time with tall fighter's over 6-3, Tucker, Bonecrusher Smith, Mitch Green, A prime Larry Holmes would have knocked him out also...
All this **** about why he lost to Douglas didn't train, Robin Givins, blah,blah, blah, **** that, if a fighter can't get his personal life in order that's his problem, and his own damn fault..:yep

 

I agree. Tyson was mentally very weak.

 

Prime Ali of 66/67 had the legs & the boxing skill to keep tyson at bay for 12 rds & win a close but not very debatable UD.

The greatest footwork in the whole history of boxing was possesed by the 1960s Muhammad Ali & even that tyson would find it hard to land often enough to make a serious dent in him.

Foreman MIGHT have had the style & joe louis would also be interesting vs tyson but if I had to put money on just 1 hwt it would be Mr. Ali.

With all that said, I rank prime tyson as the 3rd best hwt ever behind only Ali & louis.

Tyson was defo not overrated but rather terribly underrated because of losses past his peak.

Tyson was the man in his day & had a decent shot at being the best ever hwt but its still Ali for me.
Mike certainly would have beaten the holyfields & lewis`s of the world for my money.

Some of you Tyson haters, answer these questions: what "brittle psyche" did tyson possess pre prison (and don't cite some story of Teddy Atlas)? did the tyson in the douglas fight have the same technique and skill as the tyson in the majority of his title level fights just a year or two earlier? Did not buster look live a very tough hw the night in tokyo with his size, jab, power and determination getting off the canvas? Whom had better technique, defense, and power prime for prime Ali or Tyson? Whom had better speed and technique and probably better stamina prime for prime Tyson or Foreman? the questions could go on and on..... i believe due to his size and power lewis is the biggest problem for tyson prime for prime, vitali would also be a big problem b/c of his massive size and good aiblity...

I actually liked Tyson early on, under cus...and I believe he had the tools to be a top5 maybe even top 3 ATG...but potential and accomplishment do not repeat DO NOT equal the same thing. Tyson did not seek to fight the best and that is where my issue comes in. He had a passion to unify the titles, but not a whole lot more..he should have fought holy immediatly after the Holy-Dokes fight...he should not have forced Ruddock to wait so long for his shot..He should have fought Foreman...So he could have merited all of this praise but imo he fell way short!

 

Wlad would beat Tyson to a UD with 1 hand tied behind his back. Tyson = FRAUD.

A prime Tyson against a prime Wlad of today would be 50-50, Wlad would be nearly a foot taller, and that missle of a jab would give Tyson hell, but if Mikey landed a hard shot on Wlad's weak chin it's good nite:dead

Because of how Tysons career turned out, people forget how good he really was.
He is beyond question the most talented heavyweight Ive ever seen.

 

Prime for Prime Wlad couldnt handle the pressure, hell even Peter floored him 3 times, 2 of which were fair knockdowns in my opinion. The key ingredients to beat Wlad are good chin, power, pressure, Tyson had all 3 in his prime. He also dealt with just as powerful if not more powerful fighter than Wlad, when he faced Ruddick twice, I give Wlad a punchers chance, thats it.

 

If Ali went to Tysons camp like he did with Patterson, and started giving him abused, do you really think Ali would be coming out of there alive ? Tyson would be biting his leg.

 

Then he would lose via DQ...hence not mentaly tough enough even by his supporters??!!!
