What a state we are in the only possible threat is that fat guy Sam Peter who went hammer and tongs with James Toney? The Heavyweight division just sucks and its awful.....when a stiff like Vald dominates please Joe louis save me.

Hmmn I agree that the division sucks but putting Joe Louis in today will prolly not solve it. I think Wlad beats him handily.

    Sam has the better chin,eh?

Who really wants to watch Wlad vs Sam II apart from us hardcore fans?.The American based African is totally unknown outside the very small circle of American fight fans.Nobody has ever heard his name here in Europe.Well, some casual sport fans may still be able to remember his pathetic performance at the olmypic tournament when Paolo Vidoz took him out of the game.

Wlad vs Valuev is a much bigger draw, and so would be Wlad vs Povetkin in one or two years.

Hmmm...maybe Wlad hasn't been touched because he is pretty damn good? What has Peter done in the last two years? He still has not beaten an in - shape elite fighter in truly convincing fashion. Wlad got up from four knockdowns against Sanders who hits harder than Peter. He got up easily from the ONE legit knockdown against Peter in the first fight. Besides, Peter gets so fat between fights, much of his training camp is always about getting in decent shape, not exactly a good foundation for improving. And Wlad used the wrong punch in the first fight with Peter, who doesn't have a neck and therefore can absorb even Wlad's straight right hand. Now that McCline has shown how vulnerable Peter is to hooks and uppercuts, guess what punches Manny would have Wlad train for next time??

Keep writing off Oleg Maskaev, because that is a huge mistake considering what he has done to Rahman twice. Sam Peter doesn't have any quality opponents on his resume knocked out and Rahman does, so just keep thinking Scam's awesome "power" is going to finish the fight right?

Plain and simple... Peter IS a threat to Wlad. Probably the biggest threat. Better have the Wlad v.s. Valuev fight over there because if you think that would outsell Wlad v.s Peter II in the states, you are
    N-U-T-S.

Sam Peter Has Yet To KO A Top 25 Heavyweight. He has zero skill and I am not even sure he will get past the Glass Jawed Maskaev.

Why do you always bring up the Vidoz fight when discussing Peter? As if it has anything to do with his pro career right now.

And yes, he does have the better chin. He was never stopped on three separate occasions.

he has a lot to prove before he earns a rematch. At least one fight, probably two.

This is a nice thought, but frankly you guys are underating Maskaev. If Mc'Cline can knock down Peter with those kind of punches then Maskaev has the ability to do much worse. I am actually saying this fight is 50/50. Now if Peter should defeat Maskaev, then he has Vitali infront of him next. There is almost no chance that he defeats Vitali. Vitali is Mc'Cline but 10 times better. If he though should by any highly unlikely chance get through Vitali then Wladimir would knock him out second time around.

No all i saw were illegal punches behind the head, and you know this more then anyone. As for Peter being better since then you are absolutely right. And him being better will totally work against him. He will now attempt to box against Wlad instead of bull rush him, in which Wlad will dispose of him within 7 rounds. Dont get to happy about this fight, if he should defeat Maskaev then he has Vitali Klitschko next to beat, in which he wont because Vitali eats kats like Peter for lunch.

As I posted earlier Peter will probably never get to fight vlad again unless it is sveral years from now. he will lose to either Maskaev or Vitali then he will have to start all over and he will not be able to get past Povetkin.
