I struggle to see how someon who had so much fighting spirit in him could be consumed by depression to the extent he felt suicide was the answer. Also if he loved his kid as much as is said then why would he do it. . .
I've known a few people who offed themselves and it wasn't really much of a surprise, based on their general perspectives. There's always exceptions and depression can do weird things to people but it still seems unliklely to me.
