That was a dreadful ****ing fight. One of the worse title fights I've seen in quite sometime. But you know what??? WALD fought smart in this fight. That was the best I've seen Sultan (whom I do lightly regard), but WALD fought a very technical, very smart fight. Despite the suckage of the fight, I noticed that WALD is a sound technical boxer that can make adjustments. Sultan fought with a tricky style, but WALD fought a brilliant fight, that jab firing at will. And he defense was great. So I commend WALD, for fighting with brains. It shows that he has improved from the overhyped, weak chinned bum he was when he was younger.:deal
Nice thread. I just started my own saying the the same damn thing (in less words). If I would have saw this one first.....
He looked to of regressed back to his awful performance against McLine, only Ibragimov didnt have a panic attatck and quit in the corner after the first time he got hit!
I agree...it takes two to tango and at the end of the day Ibragimov did very little to win the fight. All of the criticism should not fall on Klitschko, he did what it took to win while Ibragimov was content to go the distance.
He could have KO'd him. But I agree, winning that easily always shows a high level of ability, even if it is totally unwatchable.
I used to hear the same thing about Lennox Lewis. Many of the fights that he dominated were difficult to watch. Particularly at the heavyweight level when 2 fighters with impressive KO histories meet up the expectations are higher and the fans become more bloodthirsty than usual.
Exactly. Winning by lopsided decision in a "boring" fight just means you did what you needed to in order to win. If the opponent won't force more out of the winning fighter when he realizes he is clearly behind, that is on him.
All of his early fights were pretty exciting. Ahunanya, Whitaker, Austin, Mora were all good. Mayweather changed him into a more tactical boxer. He fought a good fight considering the size disadvantage.
