I did not want to do it, but Ward beats Kovalev. Styles make fights!

I like that Sergey had a tough time. It's good for him in every way.

Ward's height & reach are 2" shorter than Chilemba's (per BoxRec) and he doesn't have near his chin. Kovalev had better get a few more tricks up his sleeve than what he's shown. 50/50.

Ward has seen Kovalev's before in the amateurs.

I like Kovalev but I never thought he was all that. Beating "Gramps" Hopkins and the shot and crude Pascal twice as his best wins proved nothing in my eyes. If Kovalev manages to beat Ward then he will deserve all the hype he has been getting.

Kovalev is definitely the real deal IMO. Chilemba is awkward as hell.
Whoever wins this is going to have a legitimately great win.

What makes him the real deal? His wins over Hopkins and Pascal? Trouble with this site is that fighters get hyped to hell by knocking out scrubs. Kovalev always looked a little mechanical to me. I always thought Ward would give him a boxing lesson.

It was good for Kovalev to get the rounds in against an awkward fighter like Chilemba.

I'm still picking the Krusher to win this fight.

Best way to sum it up. By saying "taking Kovalevs power" I take that as not just saying he has a punchers chance, but if Kovs power takes Ward out of his comfort zone, Kov could win on the cards too. Ward ko'ing Kov is not out of the question either. His speed, combined with a well placed shot Kov doesn't see could change everything too.

Chilemba is no bum but he is also no ward.

Iv always said ward beats kova... my opinion isnt so unique anymore especially after this fight... everyone is starting to see the light... an still ward gets no respect for moving up and facing the scariest fighter of a fairly stacked division.
