I did not want to do it, but Ward beats Kovalev. Styles make fights!

Yep. But then maybe Kovalev shouldn't have been so heavily favoured by so many people. This has always been a pick'em fight imo.

Not quite a boxer slugger duel but Ward is the more complete guy. Ward by close decision.

I don't see Kovalev outboxing Ward. He will have to hurt him. And I've give him a 50% chance at that; because, he boxes pretty well and has patience. Other than that, all Ward, IMO.

It is a pick em fight. Ward has the tools and athleticism to fight that perfect fight against Kovalev. But Ward does get tired and Kovalev can come forward and throw bombs for 12 rounds and strategically at that. His pressure is well thought out. Can Ward box beautifully and spoil the shots of the Krusher for 12 rounds without getting hurt. It is hard to say. So many possibilities surely a good fight for boxing. I believe it is 50/50 and I can see reasons to lean towards either fighter. I don't think I am going to put too much thought in and just enjoy the fight.

Chilemba is a good defensive fighter who is very awkward. He is trouble for anybody. He most likely only added to the wrinkles in Kovalevs game that a KO would not of done.

Kovalev will be, by far, the best fighter Ward has ever fought. The best fighters Ward has ever fought are Abraham, Kessler, Froch , Bika, Kovalev would have knocked them out easily..................in fact, Chilemba would have knocked them out.....................

    Come one, man...

I had Ward a slight favorite before last night but my mind hasn't really changed.

    Bingo!

Chilemba being competitive raises a flag for Kovalev that he must be razor sharp to win vs Ward.
Its one of those fights where Kovalev wasn't in tip top shape and Chilemba was in the best shape of his life.

Ward didn't look all that great in his last fight either.

Cant wait to see Kovalev vs Ward, they are so evenly matched that the fighter in the best condition will win imo.

I'm slightly leaning toward Kovalev, I think size will make a difference in the late rounds.

I've always felt it was pretty 50/50 from the start, I have wavered at times back and forth both ways but always only by a small margin.

Ward is a elite boxer regardless to whether he fights a bit dirty which he does, the best usually do. Yes he is a little smaller than Kov but he "might" have a wee overall speed advantage which could be just enough to give Kov more problems than he has had to date imo.

If I had to bet I would take Ward on a close 12ud decision.

My next guess would be a Kov 12 close round decision.

Both guys are really really good. I don't know what will happen for sure, would a Kov ko over Ward surprise me? No Kov hits hard enough that it is a reality. Would a Ward KO over Kov surprise me? Yes a little no doubt.

In the end I am not too emotionally invested in one or the other, I think both dudes would most likely kick every other 175lbers ass in the world so I am just happy they are fighting each other :good

Its not really that big of an "if". I'd be more surprised if he couldn't take the power tbh
