You come in weighting less than the actual weight class. I know you can't come over but I thought you also had to not come under because that would be a handicap match in favor of the other. I was suprised when they announced Pac as being 144 because as far as I know Pac had to weight 148 or over.

I don't think it's that common because in my 12+ years of watching boxing Pac vs Margarito was the first time I've seen it.

smaller fighters with lots of speed can beat a bigger slow man on any given day it always happen in the streets and we saw it last week.

I remember when Herol Graham was challenging Charles Brewer for his IBF SMW title. Graham was under weight and I think he had to gain a bit as I remember, to make the SMW division

ive started numerous threads about this, and never got a clear answer.

some people say a lightweight can fight a heavyweight if he wanted to, others say you have to be within specific limits of a weight class you want to fight in if you're under weight.

no one knows for sure, but i would like a clear answer as well, backed up by sources.

As I remember, and it was a few years ago now, but H Graham came in under weight and had to gain weight to be in the SMW limit, but I could be wrong it was a while ago, still I cant see that they would let a flyweight fight a heavyweight or even a LHW against a HW

I think RJJ weighed in 199 for his HW title fight.

There is no weight minimum. And it's not like it hasn't been done before.

SRL won a LHW title weighiing 165 and in his two defenses of his super middleweight belt weighed only 160 (his opponents weighed 162 and 158 ). He's easily the most popular fighter since Ali.

However I'm sure if it wasn't an elite fighter or some bum and there is a big weight disparity, the commission in charge of the fight would have a look at it, from a safety perspective.

Leonard won the LHW title fighting at SMW, but he also made his LHW opponent weigh in at SMW as that title was also on the line, so technically that was a SMW title fight with the LHW title given to Leonard if he won, due to his SMW weighing opponent owning the belt in the division above.
Leonard great fighter whatever the weight
