No one said Briggs can't punch. He has been on a winning note for the most part, only being out boxed by a very mobile southpaw in Ibragimov.

Briggs is more durable than he's given credit for, and still has some skills. His main drawback is lack of stamina.

As a former alphabet champion who's willing to accept a large pay day and a chance at a title, Briggs is not a bad sub. Haye and Valuev are ripping off the fans. Povetkin is too.

What is interesting is who Tua and Lewis knocked out in the first round Lewis has Galota and Ruddock to his credit and Tua has Moorer and Ruiz. Tua cops a lot of flack but surely no one else has knock outs of such quality fighters in the first round, except maybe Lewis, on their record.

Off the top of my head,

Rocky Marciano, KO1 Jersey Joe Walcott.
Sonny Liston, KO1 Floyd Patterson (twice)
Joe Louis, KO1 Max Schmelling, John Henry Lewis, Buddy Baer and others
    Bob Fitzsimmons KO1 Peter Maher

Are all much better (or at least as good) victories in the first round as Tua or Lewis had.

I knew Briggs had alot, I did not know he had that many, thats impressive even against tomato cans. I really hope the fight between him and VK comes off, it would be the 1st HW title fight to get me a little excited in a while, atleast Briggs will be looking for the KO!! Its crazy I was making a tape the other day for a friend who was wanting some Felix Savon fights and one of the fights which I had not watched in probably 10+ years was Briggs-Savon.. Briggs was TINY back then!! Savon wrecked him in one.. Crazy though how hes GROWN :D cough HGH...

When your high, the best fighter to watch is Jersey Joe Walcott. He is so graceful. He moves like a bird in the wind. A ice skater on ice. A Shark through water. He was god.

Though not a great champion. He was fairly beatable as his record proves but he was elegant.

Valuev has killed more wild boars with his bare hands than any other heavyweight.

Those are some impressive 1st round scalpings for Mike. He was a holy terror in the early rounds, no doubt! Very exciting fighter!
