I do agree with a lot of people about Peter Quillin.

It was a disgrace for Quillin not to make weight.

It is an unfair advantage. Even as far back as September, he himself said that he was in shape and even asked a reporter if he looked in shape. Then this happens. Very unprofessional.

I hope Lee is paid accordingly and paid a big bonus for this happening. You are supposed to be at your fighting weight ort least close to it at least a week before the fight to be able to maintain that weight for he fight. He seemed to have hoped that he made weight. He looks in great shape.

I don't doubt his sincerity when he says he tried to make weight, but that has to be calculated, and somebody didn't do their job.

With that said, Quillin by ko in 7 or less.

Quillin at least clearly tried to make weight after failing the first time, so it's bad in that it takes some shine off the fight, but I don't think he's going in there with an advantage. Lee is getting a decent chunk of extra change and even if he loses he gets to keep his belt.

That in a way takes the consensus true judgement out of the fight should Lee get overwhelmed by Quillin.

Quillin seemed healthy, even energetic. Someone just screwed up.

I don't think that half pound will be a big advantage, if anything losing that pound so quick trying to make weight might wear on him a bit.

Still, plenty of egg on his face - it doesn't come across well to fans, not in the slightest. Even worse, is he was the real headliner of the fight. Sure, Garcia ranks higher in the Haymon corp totem pole - but that PBC show was actually selling tickets (to real people) and the ratings will probably be good as well. And it's not because of some catchweight fight between Garcia and Peterson, it's because a Brooklynite and an Irishman are fighting in Brooklyn for a title in a division that has been getting a lot of attention. Or, were fighting for a title anyhow.

I almost feel bad for Quillin, it seems like every time he is on the verge of actually moving up the boxing totem pole he or his handers do something to really screw it up.

I don;t think that this is a big advantage. The fact that he tried to loss the 1.6 lbs and got with in 0.6 lbs after he returned shows me that he was really trying to make it to the weight. Which means that he is probably 1) drained as ****, 2) spent too much of his camp trying to make weight instead of working on skills, which at 31 years old, after 1 year off, is not a good thing at all...and 3) he make lack motivation and dedication to boxing at this point in his career.

Last couple of days before the weigh in hes guna be on the scales quite a few times. So his crew would of known he was borderlining. Makes me wonder what extra efforts he has had to do before the weigh in time. If its alot the advantage could go to Lee.

seems like quillin is being mismanaged and is being given bad advice.

if quillin loses against lee and his career takes a nosedive from here, i could see him suing haymon for mismanagement. haymon seems like he was watching out more on his boxing series than for quillin's career.

Haymon guys are way too much into all this "business" talks. This backfires already. Scales and the ring still count.

Imagine smart businessmen and best sportsmen doing this kind of shit. Floyd/Jordan anyone? Haymon negatively impacts his young fighters' attitude towards the sport, they are getting softer with his sugarcoating treatment. Being the best was always about hunger.
