I do not understand why people consider him a King of Lightweight when he don't have a good resume except that SD over Corrales.

    His record is not ideal.
    Lost to Castillo
    Lost to Freitas
    Lost to Crrales (I)

I don't see any great fighter he defeated except that SD over Corrales.

I dont think he is a great fighter. BUt he is the champ at Lightweight. He also was the second person to stop Corrales (although it was on a cut)

I agree, but hes too old and been out of the ring for a long time now I dont know how people can see him beating the Baby Bull.

No offense but I thought he beat both Freitas and Castillo.

After his draw with Kid Diamond people were saying Casamayor had seen better days and now he's the lightweight champ after a win over a shopworn Corrales. Boxing is funny that way.

Casamayor fought close fights with Corrales, Castillo and Freitas. He brawled and boxed Castillo and made it close. PBF couldn't do that.

PBF tried to brawl with Castillo in the 1st fight and didn't do well, he should of lost. The second fight he used running shoes.

To me anyone who goes toe to toe with Castillo or Corrales and doesn't get stopped and makes it competitive is great. It takes serious skill to deal with that adversity. Skillwise that's Duran-esque but not Duran-esque in competition.

If Casa was in his prime, none of these LW come close. Right now, Juan stands a chance bcuz of his constant pressure on an old man's legs.

Casa in his prime was not great. He was good, but had losses to Freitas, Corrales and Castillo.

    :huh

I get the feeling some of the people in this thread haven't actually seen all the fights they are talking about. For starters, there are some who say that Casamayor did not lose to either Freitas, Corrales (the 2nd time) or Castillo. Not that I think he won them all, but these some certainly have a case too. Cause all those fights were very close. And if he were to have been given the decisions, he just as easilly could be undefeated.

Certainly not an all time great, but definately a very good, if not great, figher. Clearly past his prime at the moment, but we have to see how he looks since he hasn't been in the ring in a while. I'd probably go for Juan at the moment, but like some have said, would tip Casa if he was in his prime and at his best.

And PBF-Castillo 1 and 2 wasn't a matter of PBF brawling in the first, and running in the second.

I will put my 2 cents is this conversation people don't want to fight him too much risk no reward all his looses very controversial a very difficult fighter for anybody wasting his best years due his reputation and a lousy manager I hope Oscar will reverse this problem. He moved to 135 because none of the 130 pounders will fight him including Pac,Barrera and Morales to me this is his natural weigh remember he was 118 lbs with the Cuban team it's sad to see him calling out the best out there up to 140 lbs using his age as an excuse.
