Absolute garbage mate. The situation was 50/50, Bute beat the count narrowly, and whilst in no condition to take a punch, he didn't need to - so in a sense he was "fit" to carry on for 1-2 seconds. Although the fight probably should have been stopped before Bute even got knocked down, that isn't the issue.

It is the fact that the ref clearly did his best to drag out the count, and find a minor distraction, that is what makes it corrupt. He knowingly sought a means to give the hometown fighter an advantage in the situation - that is corrupt.

He looked unconcious on the ropes. It reminded me of the Castillo Corrales fight where the ref probably didnt WANT to stop the fight because Castillo had downed Diego twice, but for the safety of Castillo he HAD to. That is the scene that came to mind as I saw Bute getting smashed.

It is, according to the rules, as long as he wasn't "hanging helplessly over the ropes"...but hey, screw the rules! The referee was bad because Andrade didn't win, like many people wanted him to. I understand.

Everything was ok.He beat the count.Everybody deal with it.If the count was long it's because Andrade was in the middle of the ring as proven by a pic

That's not what the IBF thinks. Read the other thread.

The guy almost passed out, he was almost uncontious rolling around the ring before the KD, he was in no condition to continue, the only reason the ref didnt stop the fight is because time was running out, the ref shouldnt be focusing on time but on fighters well being.

The ref COULD have stopped the fight. the referee was closer than you were of Bute. He's experienced. Andrade had not much left himself, he did not hit Bute repeatidly, in fact only 2 or 3 times in the 30 last seconds, Bute was still able to clinch, so he was indeed defending himself, that was a championship bout, Bute was the champion, he was ahead on the card, how many reasons do you need? Bute said the punch that put him down didn't even hurt him. He was not hit, he was exhausted. Don't you think a ref cannot see the difference? The fact is you cannot accept the result of the fight. If he had taken Bute out, I would have been outraged. I would not have agreed with that decision. That doesn't mean I would be right, that only means fans see what they want to see.
