you can compare Grant and Wilder to the way they were managed: Grant was KO'ing everyone he met, until he was KD'd twice by the first guy he stepped up against in Golota, and exposed, then unfortunately ran into the LL express in his next fight, instead of taking an easier fight, this can happen to Wilder, if he dismantles SL, his handlers might throw him in against someone who would be too much to handle in his next fight and Wilder's career would be halted

Easy fight for a padded record.

As far as I an see Grant was a league above Wilder at this stage. :deal

If Liakhovich isn't half of the very faded guy who fought Jennings and Wilder is twice as good as I think he is then maybe it will be easy. Otherwise Wilder will be getting a struggle at best I bet.

  4. Wilder is not a boxer. Just a huge guy with punching power. But he has no skills. He can't box.

Liakhovich will win this fight, if he trains well before it.

This is a good fight for Wilder, I'm not a huge fan of his, however I think this fight will give him some much needed rounds and experience. I would say he should have had these type of fights earlier although it is a step in the right direction...

Hard to add much to that, especially the opening and closing remarks :D

If, and it's a big if, SL is not totally shot and can get through the early rounds it could be a good fight. To me, anything less than a stoppage by Wilder - preferably early - will look bad. A close decision or loss will be a huge set back to Wilder. He's been moved along way too slow.

This should be fun while it lasts but I wouldn't get my hopes up for Liakovitch.

This is definitely a step up for Wilder. Liakhovich is pretty faded but still better than anyone Wilder has fought.

I think Wilder beats him and probably stops him in the middle rounds but I wouldn't be shocked if Liakhovich is the first guy to take Wilder the distance.

    Should be a good fight.

Both Klitschkos would kill him... In fact most of the top HW's now would.

    I totally agree.

Anybody know how Liakhovich is looking in training? Or Wilder? We're getting close.

This is not a bad fight at all, just not what many of us had hoped for.

If Wilder beats a motivated Liakhovitch, it won't make Wilder the next big thing, but it WILL answer several important questions about him. It may also be a great learning experience for Wilder, if Liakhovitch can somehow survive into the later rounds.

A big KO will also help Al Haymon get Wilder the opposition he really deserves. - Assuming that he gets past the wolf, which is by no means assured.

    It's a good fight.

Wilder is indeed a joke. He's fought nothing but stiffs. It says something that this WAY past his prime Liakhovitch is BY FAR his best opponent.

And, btw, don't be surprised if even THIS version of Liakhovitch shatters Wilder's glass jaw.

Say what you will fanboy, but the facts don't like - Wilder's hiding glass in his chin, and his handlers know it, which is why nearly FIVE years into his career, he has YET to face someone who isn't a low-level tomato can.

The bottom line on Wilder is that his chin is PURE Grade AAA china.

He was laid out in this amateur fight (go about 2 minutes in), with HEADGEAR on :rofl :

    [yt]FNO5bVPP-uw[/yt]

And here's Wilder tasting canvas against the formidable Harold Sconiers, who had a 17-20 record when Wilder faced him (that's not Sconiers on the canvas, btw ):

Oh, and he also hit the deck against morbidly obese Dustin Nichols, a typical Wilder opponent, btw (go about 40 seconds in):

Make NO mistake about it. Wilder has a china chin, and his handlers know it. Why do you think he's 30 fights into his fraudulent "career" and still facing these sorts of stiffs??
