These european boxers are overrated. Calzahge is overrated. So was all the competition he faced over there in europe. Don't bring up Jeff lacey who is one dimentonal , one handed and slow.

Unless Hopkins gets ripped off by the judges (yet again) Calzahge has no chance.

Bank it. All the hype is to get the Vegas odds lopsided.

not going to be surprised if Cal went all out and KO'd Hopkins(multiple slaps as some might call it)...

    Ok. Don't say I did'nt warn.

He is coming up in weight to fight Hopkins, and Hopkins has a history of destroying hypes coming up in weight to meet him.

Once Hopkins blasts Calzaghe with a straight short right that noone sees the dance is over.:hi:

Joe had no power where he was at. The only thing going up in weight is going to do is make him slower and easier for a 43 YO hopkins to put down.

Check out his KO percentage, going up might actually improve his power just like Cotto's move to 147. Joe always struggled to make weight.

Also notice that Hopkins does very well with big hitters like Trinidad and Tarver but doesnt do so well with speed and volume, compare Taylor or even Oscar Delahoya before the KO. Calzaghe is going to bring lots of speed, volume and activity.

yeah, because he keeps slapping right?:blood he controls the way he throws em, too hard will injure him hence lowering his KO ratings. This is compensated by superior workrate and stamina...something i dont think OLDhops can match. Im not putting HOPS down, its just that i dont think he can do what he used to do this time around.:verysad

Ok let me sum up why Calzaghe is going to go to sleep.

    Coming up in weight class.

    Overhyped european fighter.

    Hopkins destroys south paws.

Hopkins is clutch. His best comes out when he faces the best.

EDIT. And one more thing. Despite his age, listen to him talk. I don't know a single 43 year old boxer who does'nt sound punch drunk except for hopkins . Hopkins has maintained himself by not getting hit often with that incredible defense he has. He is a freak of nature.

People can point out how Hopkins has never lost to southpaws. But then one can add that Calzaghe has never lost period.

Well atleast your giving Hopkins the benefit here. I respect that.

But I bet the vegas line is writing hopkins off for dead.

you say european boxers are overated , yet they make up the vast bulk of champions and contenders from middleweight/super middle/light heavy/cruiserweight/heavyweight/

the traditional weights where american boxers have dominated through the 50`s to 90`s .

but have it your way, i have seen muppets like you post this kind of drivel for years , i mean what the **** do you know about european boxing and fighters that you could debate about.

and as to bookies giving there money away, yep bookies up and down the country are going broke not knowing **** all about setting betting odds so some clever money can make a killing at there expense.
