I don't care what anyone else thinks. But Wladimir Klitschko is an all time great

At one point in time, I laughed at the idea that Wladimir Klitschko could even remotely be considered great, especially after seeing him get beat by Lamon Brewster. As time goes on however, I have developed a strong respect for his abilities and agree with anyone who says that he has improved noticeably under the training of Manny Steward. Wlad has lost only 3 times in nearly 60 fights, has an olympic gold medal and over the past two years has beaten most of the division's best fighters.

He has every bit as good of a left jab as many great boxers, can crack like the best of them, and is one of the largest men to ever hold the heavyweight title. In addition, his right cross and uppercut are lethal, and I don't think his chin is as bad as some have claimed.. Do I think that his name belongs being mentioned in the same breath as Muhammad Ali? No I don't, and never will. But some are starting threads claiming that he and his brother would be journeyman in most eras and that's just nonsense.

I know that there are some comments in this thread that will probably wind up in the Klitschko fan comment of the week bull**** series, but really I don't care. While I'm not a proponent of Klitschko nuthuggers, the hater's have surpassed them in their idiocy lately.

It is too early to place him in the top 10, as his career is still in progress. But I don't necessarily think that you have to be top 10 to be considered great. Floyd Patterson is an all time great, but rarely makes a lot of people's 10. For me, I think its reasonable to say that he's probably one of the top 20 best heavyweights of all time.

I think he's on his way there. He has no wins over any greats, but he's getting longevity. He's been on a winning streak and it's impressive. He's big, he's strong, and head to head does seemingly does okay.
I don't think he can afford another loss though. He has 3 losses to, let's be honest, bums. He is already, unfairly, defined by those loses by many detractors. But, I think he goes on a few more years undefeated and either retires, or does not lose until he is old...he's definitely going to be a great.

I like your videos on YOUTUBE, but I disagree with you.

I think his brother is a better fighter and if anyone deserves to be mentioned as an ATG, it's him, and not Wlad.

I think so as well. I think it's tough not to say he's top 20 at this point. I'd put him top 15, around where Bowe is.

    That's understandable.Top 20ish is ok.

Doubt he will evr make top 10 since this era just sucks so bad.

He would give potentially any fighter in history a tough fight. He could be great.

If you don't care what anybody thinks, why start a thread?

You forgot his hook, which he sometimes doubles, triples, or throws off the jab.

I agree, the division looks bare but that isn't his fault, he took out Chagaev with ease. I think he'd be hard pressed to ever make top 10 ATG HW because there just isn't the competition for us to guage him, but if he keeps fighting on until Vitali's age he may get there. I think he'll land somewhere around top 15 with Vitali around top 20.

he has no wins over any greats because Lennox Lewis Vitali and Wladimir slaughtered anyone and everyone from becoming a "great" ,,simple as that.
