I don't consider any modern Heavyweight below 6'5'' as a serious threat.

Unless that heavyweight has James Toney like offense/defense skill or Evander Holyfield's offensive skill mixed with raw physical toughness, I can't take that heavyweight seriously.

People underestimate the importance of height in boxing. In fact I will go as far as saying that height is more important than weight. I'm not saying this is always the case. There are exceptions_ such as James Toney, Mike Tyson, Holyfield who were able to overcome their physical limitation and come out victorious against their physical superiors. I see this guys as outliers. All things being equal between to combatants, I believe the taller fighter ( I don't mean 1-2 inches taller, I mean 4 inches and above) will always dominate the shorter opponent.

Any one else feel this way?

Really? Always?? So always. I can think of many cases where this doesn't hold up. One off the top of my head- Tyson. 5'10", beat a number of pretty good tall guys- Tony Tucker, Razor Ruddock, Larry Holmes. Or isn't that considered modern era? And to be technical, Joseph Parker stands 6'4". I'd be willing to bet that within the next 5 years or so we'll see a shorter heavyweight or two emerge, that will be talented enough to beat a lot of these hulking guys.

I agree , for top tier fighters the difference maker is more height and reach more than weight

Don't just go off of the heading of the thread, read the body also. If you had done so, you will see that I deem guys like Tyson as outlier.
One thing you also forgot, is that Tyson also struggled with tall heavyweights. Check his fights against James "quick" Tillies. James "bonecrusher" Smith, and his eventual fall at the hands of Buster Douglass.

very silly opinion, nothing always happens and truly great fighter are great because they can over come.

a good taller fighter always has that large advantage over a good shorter fighter

I think under 6' and you can basically forget it in the current scene. Lose weight and go cruiser or lhw, even there you've got guys over 6' at the top.

Maybe I shouldn't have said "always", but in most cases, good tall fighters, beat great little fighters. In most cases, NOT always.
