The big thing on here is that everyone seems to be always looking for a fighter to come along who will fight anyone ,isnt afraid to mix it up,has good skill, stamina, good chin, and power, and when this guy does come along and as soon as he fights someone who would give anyone in the world trouble and he beats him there is the need to bring him down .Paul Williams not only dug deep and won against someone who it is hard to look good against he even answered the dreaded would you give him a rematch question and said he would. The guy is good,he's tough, and he is not afraid to do his job against anyone and that is Fight. Paul Williams has my respect even more then b4,a lot of guys would have caved but he didnt he showed he has the goods.:rasta
People are pissed that he got a gift. That 119-110 card was absolutely awful. We'll wait and see if he gets the rematch.
I think part of it is the Goliath persona. A lot of people attribute much of Williams's success to his height and reach. There's some legitimacy there, but that's part of what makes Paul, Paul. I don't agree with that being a reason to slam or root against Paul, but that's the way we roll in a lot of cases: we want to see the little man tear down the big man.
Nah, it's probably because Williams was never that good to begin with, but his ass-huggers just won't let go.
Kellerman and his "most avoided fighter" garbage hasn't helped. But seriously, Pierre Benoist is the main reason. The fight itself was easily one of the best this year.
I had Martinez winning the fight by 1 round. But it was a very close fight. However Pierre's card was ****ing nonsense and spoiled the night in my eyes. There should definitely be a rematch, to settle the score.
I like Paul Williams, but he got his ass handed to him last night. That soft jab and no power high punch output doesn't work against world class boxers. Martinez out classed him, end of story. Who the hell has Paul Williams fought? Margartio and a 58 year old Winky Wright. People act like this guy cleaned out 3 divisions.
