For many of the geniuses around here Canelo is simply not black enough

I don't think anyone is really hating him. He fought well. Some people are rightfully having a go at the judges though.

 

people should just learn to be fans of boxing instead of believing in other people (the fighters) too much

if you can do that, you'll appreciate canelo's coming of age - at the ripe old age of 22 - even though i myself tipped trout

getting emotionally involved in the achievements of others is lame

 

I thought he fought great, clearly won and was brave to take on that fight.

 

Any hyped fighter or cash cow type usually gets a lot of hate because people feel others get their ranking the hard way rather than what is seen as getting a manufactured way to a title/ranking with the backing of big promotion. I get it to an extent but not to an extent where people hate on Canelo and that type of fighter.

I think Alvarez is young and at 22 just beat what many considered the #1-#2 guy in the division. He deserves some respect for that at least

I have no problem with Canelo; I think he did a nice job. But I can understand the hate. He's lived up to most of the hype but not all of it. Very good fighter, falls just short of being great. He gets protected and pampered by GBP. He's basically guaranteed to win every fight in Texas if it goes to the scorecards and it's at least somewhat competitive. Many people have a problem with this.

 

Oh boy. The race card. Did it ever occur to you that this fight super was close so it's natural for people to have mixed feelings and cry robbery?

Lot of BS in your post. For one, I have not seen too many people call him great although he did impress with some of his movements. He was naturally protected coming up because of his inexperience but he just fought the biggest threat at 154 and is calling out the PFP fighterin the world. Also, he's never fought in TX before this.

 

Canelo on his way. Hope to see good things from him in the future,just gotta work on that stamina bc that can definitely be exposed. But hes only 22,so he can work on it

Honestly the hate is a good thing,people dont hate on bad fighters around here.

 

Normally I would agree with you. But in this case the ones that cry robbery are almost solely "members" of team slick and black.

Canelo just made it to #1 position in the division. And should be treated accordingly.
Like Rigo did last week.
