I know I will get a lot of flak here for saying this but i really do not enjoy watching Usyk (I love watching Loma by way of comparison).

I just find him too awkward looking and kind of fast yet ponderous with sporadic and non fluid movement (but certainly effective). He throws those kind of Anthony Tarver type "push" punches that look like they have no power even though they do.

And somehow the gloves look huge on the ends of his arms and make him look not quite right...the combined effect looks almost like he is pushing pillows into his opponents face.

I am not doubting him but man i find him unexciting and uninspiring to watch. I am 49 years old and ex amateur boxer and been an avid fan of the sport since Muhammed Ali lost to Leon Spinks (and cried the day Larry Holmes beat him).

Am I the only one who sees it this way?

So are you saying he's not very good or unaesthetic to watch?

I don't find him entertaining to watch either even though I recognise how difficult an opponent he will be for anyone at heavyweight.

It will take a legit top level guy to make him fight at his best ,watch the Joyce and Breidas fights he counters with excellent timed shots and fought back with every punch landed on him,

The fuss is a very calculating guy with great angles that he uses to win,he makes you defeat him and try and get over him by round, which is why most will need a stoppage here against him.

Guys like Witherspoon, he'll be on cruise control all day long. you need to out work Usyk or stay with him to get by him ,who does this ?

The three best bets to nullify at least one aspect of usyks work rate/angles are AJ/Fury and Hrgovic.

Id also like to see a real 12 rounder with Joyce that would be a crazy fight.

I didn't grow up with Ali but my grandfather was a massive fan and from all accounts of Ali I could never really understand why. I'm sure I would of appreciated his talent at the time but to me he sounded like an *******. I think I'd would of been Team Smokin' Joe all the way.

If Ali was fighting today 95% of these posters would not be friendly to him . Ali's style today with the less attention span fan would not gel well, that is a fact. They would say he cant punch and runs away,he would be a more entertaining version of Hughie Fury ,but most would accuse him of being to small, no power and holding to much. It still doesn't stop them from down playing current HW's though.

The thread itself is focused on a far more entertaining fighter, but ask the TS who he would likely watch and I bet its Ali ? lol

Don't compare him to Hughie Fury. No need for that.

Yea there is because they're the SAME style which Hughie took. If you cant compare styles you don't know what you are watching.

Ali had much better impact punching and grit and Hughie has the better trainer who knows the actual fighting better . Both are similar you cant tell me otherwise ,both on different levels obviously.

If you're going to continue with this shades of Ali line I'm afraid I'm out. Ali didn't try to con judges by playing tag. His style whilst elusive in his younger days didn't see him act like receiving any punch would lay him out.

Maybe he wasn't up for Witherspoon? I'll give him a pass untill he faces a live body.

That's where your wrong, Ali was the first showman to convince judges he won rounds by inside antics.

So that tells me you haven't a clue what you are watching and lack history of Ali, bc that's exactly what he did was play tag and taunt guys and got the crowd involved in rounds he didn't even win ? lol.

OK mate. You've compared Ali to Hughie Fury. Good luck with that. Having read all of your other expert analysis I'm sure you've got legions of world class fighters banging down your door begging for your advice.

Yeah, he doesn't do it for me either. Until he proves he's the top HW, by beating several of the top guys like Joshua, Wilder, Fury, Ruiz, I have to say the hype over him is over-blown to say the least
