I wish him luck too and hope he is successful. Fury didn't seem to have too much respect for Wlad the way he described him as a robot etc. So would he heed the diet tips if there were any? With the right training and diet anyone can get cut. It just takes a lot of dedication. The people that find it easy to stay cut are the ones that didn't get fat in the first place.
Genetically some fighters will find it easier to have a low bodyfat %, others will find it tougher, but with the right diet and training there is no reason for a professional fighter to have roles. McCloskey looks the way he does because he has a higher bodyfat % than most fighters in his weightclass. I've not doubt that it the right measures were put in place he could drop to Lightweight(or at least he could have when he was a little younger) and still be strong. You're right about the 2nd part however, how much fat a fighter has doesn't indicate their skill level and it also doesn't necessarily tell us how well conditioned they are either. But there's no way in hell Fury is following a perfect diet, he simply wouldn't look the way he does if he did, even if he was genetically disposed to carrying more adipose tissue than the average man.
I didn't say he follows a perfect diet. I was just pointing out (to those who seem to think a bit of fat means you're unfit or undisciplined) that I doubt it affects him that much - it certainly doesn't mean a ripped guy will beat him. I'm not sure how much Fury will take from Wlad, but he'd be stupid not to soak up what he could from the belt-holder, and let's face it he's called everybody else worse than 'robotic'! I also couldn't see Steward wasting time on him if he thought he was taking the ****.
:roflatsch All these people saying it's natural fat are talking nonsense. Fury said himself he is addicted to chocolate and sweets. He needs to cut out eating that and focusing on boxing, otherwise he will go down as a tubby blob also ran.
He wont unless he puts in the effort. In fact as he gets older and his testosterone dips slightly, he will find it harder to shift fat and maintain muscle.
The fact that he has any excess body fat means he isn't 100% dedicated to his profession. He's cutting corners somewhere. That's either not committing to a healthy diet, not doing enough cardio/endurance training, or a combination of both. A 22 year old professional athlete shouldn't have any excess body fat, even if he is a heavyweight boxer.
Now his old fella isnt able to train him we might start to see a difference in him physucally and technically.
he loves food and doesn't train as hard as he thinks he does. just from training, you will be able to go 12 rounds but to go 12 rounds like rocky marciano or fighters of that ilk takes a different type of training. james toney can 12 rounds but he sure as **** could do it better when he trained harder and weighed less.
Never understood this attitude. If you want to be an athlete and a top one you have to almost live the purist lifestyle. Its a sacrifice worth making. Hatton used to **** me off after fights, blowing up the michelin man.
