I don't even like Mayweather - But even though he cherrypicks, the quality of his opposition has been superior to Wlad's. (Again, not Wlad's fault).

Mayweather is also a pugilist's dream. Slick, fast counter puncher with an interesting style - I find it boring at times, but not as boring as Wlad.

Wlad has an amazing ability that he just doesn't utilise - He hardly throws his left hook against a live opponent, and is too reluctant to throw his right hand.

Many know full well my criticisms of Wlad, and only a fool would deny them - But I'm no hater. (I can't be anyways, my g/f is Ukrainian!)

Mayweather has that 'media hype' about him due to his controversial nature - That helps him, coupled with his skill, being p4p number 1/2, being a hated athlete, and fighting in competitive fights.

Wlad on the otherhand, isn't loved nor hated outside of the K2 Heartlands (Eastern Europe and Germany). That means no attention. It also doesn't help that there are no live American opponents. It also doesn't help that there are no live opponents full stop!

The fact remains, that the talent Wladimir has, he should be decimating this guys in a far more devastating fashion. Granted, he's not explosive, but if Mayweather breaks apart a guy in round 4, it will end in round 5. Wlad has a guy broken down in Round 5, and it ends in Round 10. I didn't criticise the Thompson performance. He finished it one round after Thompson got dropped. (Wlad underperformed, but with a 6th round knockout, what more do we expect?) I DO however, criticise the fight - It may have been mandatory, but he fought Jean Marc Mormeck when he knew he had a 40 year old Thompson next.

Mike Tyson said it best - Klitschko's are good fighters, They're just not exciting.

And as for all the unfair criticism, it's comments like the dude below who try to justify this era as being great, that lead people to overtly hate on the Klitschko's. So when people like chitownfightfan says what I have quoted below, people feel the need to go out of their way to criticise Wlad.

    I hope that explains it

    :patsch Chisora muders Lyle

    :patsch Chisora murders Bugner

:patsch Sam Peter KO1 Ken Norton

:patsch Sam Peter KO1 Sonny Listen

    :patsch Adamek KO's Patterson

:patsch Modern Technology = Vitali on Steroids

:patsch :patsch Nostalgia fans need to go watch some tape? You Sir need to go and get some tape and start hemming dresses. Anything other than talking about Boxing.

:patsch - I think I just realised you were being sarcastic!!! (I hope)

Lol yeh, it was for the Troll quoted above you.

He said I only watch highlight reels (and that's what I base my analysis on) - So I advised him to watch that entire fight. It was meant primarily as an irony, but I don't believe he understood it.. Nor has he bothered watching it.

    :?:?

now you know why a lot of people hate on wlad. it's because of people like you. and because he's boring.

if you believe what you've just wrote, can i advise you never to watch boxing again? because you shouldn't. you do it a major disservice.

So basically only Anglosphere fighters. This just proves what i've always felt hurts both Klitschko's legacy more than any other fighters in history. It's not even that they themselves are non Anglosphere fighters but that their best wins are almost all against non Anglosphere fighters apart from Byrd and Haye.

The 4 you've just mentioned will probably never match the achievements of Adamek, Solis, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Peter, Gomez but the Anglosphere hype will build them up as bigger fights than they are. Let's be honest, those 4 you've mentioned are not even better than Paea Wolfgramm was at the same stage.

I'm pretty sure Sultan Ibragimov, a very small and elusive heavyweight, gets the credit for that one sucking. Look at some articles from the time of the fight and you'll see the blame was laid almost exclusively on Iggy.

... But you know that and are a disingenuous hater like the rest.

Wlad haters: "OMG WLADIMIR NEEDS TO STEP UP AND STOP CRUSHING CANS!"

Wlad fans: "...It's a mandatory fight to keep his belt"

Wlad haters: "DOESN'T MATTER, HE COULD HAVE FOUGHT HEALTHY DAVID HAYE, FURY, HELENIUS, PULEV, PRICE, MITCHELL"

Wlad fans: "None of them are willing to fight him...they all declined career high paydays and a shot at all his belts"

Wlad haters: "SEE HE ONLY FIGHTS BUMS. KLITSCHKO BROTHERS TAG TEAM THE HW DIVISION, THAT'S WHY THEY WIN. HAYE KO'S VITALI, CHISORA KO'S WLAD, BOTH HAVE THE PERFECT STYLE TO WIN.

    Wlad fans: "Jesus christ..."

Iggy a once AM star and after building himself up as an exciting heavy that's scalped big names including ATG's puts on an all out defensive performance and loses on points, retires and is never talked of again.

Haye after building himself up as an extremely boring heavy that's scalped names including Enzo, Mormeck and Audley Harrison puts on an embarrassing performance where he not only losing every round in a shut out but also disgraces the sport with his constant diving during almost every round. After fight result, blames toe. Reaction of the Anglosphere boxing 'fans' "Haye deserves a rematch, Haye has to have another World title shot at the other Champ".

    = Anglosphere ******ation.
