Reasons - Earl has only lost 4 fights in his career. Katsidis - 2 time WBO interim lightweight champion Amir Khan - WBA Light welterweight and future p4p superstar Ricky Burns - Current WBO super featherweight champion Henry Castle - ok, happy to say he;s no world beat, but he is NOT mug. and neither is earl. he is no mug guys, so easy when comparing to some green and mundine opponents. People bring up the record of Karl Taylor, yeh ok...umm EARL WON THAT FIGHT... hold on...he also won EVERY round lol score cards read 60 for earl. ie winning every round. but its made about that he lost to this guy? The only point that i agree with is earls 'inaction'. its been almost 2 yrs since a professional fight for earl, but he has his own gym and promotes fighters, but i wouldnt be too worried about him remaining a credible opponent. Last main points - Yes it is an easy fight for Katsidis - Yes it is a warmup/tune up fight -Yes Katsidis will be short price favourite. but is it a farce.... IMO no. - Earl has still got a decent record, he is still a credible opponent only losing to quality opponents. - good fight and will be great atmosphere for QLD fans an OZ fans alike - good build up for his next domestic fight. maybe zappa etc just my opinion
The guy has been retired for 2 years and has worse punch resistance than Roy jones. He is an opponent but not a good one. He is a recognized name, that's all

If you've seen his loss to Castle, its massively apparent he is so shot its not funny. This fight is actually dangerous. That's the problem people have with it, not that its an easy fight, but it could end in tragedy

I thought Earl looked ok before getting hit flush, he came out looking for a KO and got tagged himself, he actually withstood some big punches after that first KD and still wanted to go even when the ref stepped in. Things like that happen in the first rd, my only concern is his inactivity last 2yrs.
Not pretty. Lost count of the number of flush shots Castle hit Earl with. All in just over a minute, and that was 2 1/2 years ago!
so...he lost to henry castle...again, no bum. good fighter actually. this means earl cant fight again?? willy kickett lost to elmoar in 1 round, does this mean he shouldnt fight again sherrington lost recently in round 1...does this mean he shouldnt fight again anyway, i just dont think its such an issue as people are making it out to be yes katsidis will win within 5 rounds its a tune up, easy win fight...thats what it is... dont watch if your not interested, but its NOT a farce.
