This content is protected this was written from me as well. I am no 100 % hater. I admit, that he is fast, has skills n everything, but I dont like him, the way he ruins fights. well, he still had his moments, great combos n everything, arthur had his moments too.
Im with you chempasillo.. Im not a big fan of wards style as well.. The kid has talent but hes not very entertaining! **** all of these idiots saying "if you dont like ward you dont like boxing" :nono
thanks slugg. like I said, some combos ward made were great, he can box without a doubt and arthur also had a good jab in the beginning, but than......you know
People just appreciate different elements of boxing more than others. Some will watch a Pernell Whitaker fight and see a boring running. Others see a defensive genius with once in a generation elasticity and boxing prowess. Same with fighters like Gatti. Sure he could give and take like no other, but in terms of quality "sweet science" of boxing...some would say not so much. The general consensus is the "less knowledgeable" fans will not appreciate the finer aspects of the art and enjoy the more tangible brutal side. Criticizing Ward on out boxing Abraham and slipping punches when AA went on the offensive...it lends one to assume you fall into the former category. A final note re:holding. During the post-fight interview, Ward actually said he wished the ref would have let them fight more. So, maybe the smothering was going both ways?
Very impressed by Ward. He looks really comfortable and in control in the ring. Like the commentators said, he doesn't really have any bad weaknesses ie he's good all round.
quote: "Ward with his 'as soon as you try too hit I'll duck' technic" Read what you wrote there. You dislike Ward because he avoids punches. I don't know whether that's the dumbest thing I've ever read here, but it is among the dumbest, certainly. It is a contender for the stupidest remark ever made on ESB. It is in the running.
Anyone who likes to man hug as much as Ward is automatically on my 'I don't like to watch them fight' list.
Yeah, Ward should learn to lead more with his face. That will make him popular among the ESB imbeciles.
No man it's because there's nothing to "hate" about the man. He's humble, respectful, nice dude...he has fought his way up the ranks, he's as complete a young fighter as you could find...I mean what's not to like about the kid?
He's a boxer's boxer...he's humble, smart, student of the game, respectful to opponents, was a successful amature, has fought everyone put in front of him, and there's really nothing to not like about him.
and he is always head butting and comes away with it, because he always has californian referees.....
