I dont really like the way broner presents himself. I understand that some guys play the villain in order to gain fame and increase their marketability. In a way we the public are at fault, why cant we show more love towards fighters that are respectful so that young up and comers don't resort to playing the villain to secure a better future? That said I really respect the way broner kept fighting (minus the elbows and acting job). It takes a lot of mental strength to hang in there as long as he did. Hopefully he can stop playing this role and grow as a fighter.
Broner has shown a heart of the champion. The amount of punishment he took in the first two rounds, yet he kept fighting as if nothing happened, showing a great composure. The fight was a great spectacle.
this is ESB. you aren't allowed to give him props for fighting hard. he doesn't fit the description..
Broner was good to keep his pain and didn't show it to his opponent but he was seriosly hurt yesterday.
This is ESB. You aren't even allowed to like boxing. I liked AB before and I still do, he ate shots that would knock you or I out three times in that fight. The only fighter who I've changed stance on is Marcos Maidana who I'd only watched lose. He's exciting though. I think they both have room for improvement and the opportunity to do so.
understood, broner is not for everyone. but he still represents the kids i see in the inner city all the times. so i knew it would rubb certain type of people the wrong way. he showed he had heart and a great chin. but when i say that about a boxer it means he got hit a lot. aint no quit in broner aint no ***** in broner. oh he dont act that way to sale tickets either. he's only 23 (man child) and he was living his dream and making his wildest fantasy become true. live every other fighter that made some decent money. but lets crucify the young brother ? well im not i got his bac as fan to the end.
You have a point, but how would you know joining this year and having only 39 posts to date? :blood O wait... it's because you're an ALT! Either banned or not wanting to post this with your real account. About Broner, I don't think he is playing the villian. He's just an a$$. But he did show heart up until the moment he faked being seriously hurt from the headbutt.
just give him his props for the whole fight. he has a good chin and conditioning. he showed heart to keep coming forward and trying to win. he did not run or go into survival mode. he stayed in deep warters, the devils backyard, hells kitchen, THE BELLY OF THE BEAST. yeah he pulled hopkins when he got head butted . but hell he just got combo with some hard **** clean on the dome. the dome, he tied his man up like he was supposed to do and then he got head butted. broner should have gotten a break for that. he got cracked boom boom, then head butt and he is just suppose to fight woozy off that. naw broner should have done that i think.
It'd be easier to respect him if he didn't fake an injury, do that fake humping nonsense or storm out of the ring at the end. If he had shown a shred of humility at any point, people could empathise with him a little.
Showed lots of heart and a good chin. Once he adapted to MM wild style he was doing better. Had him winning the 12th and after beating he took shows heart. As a person what an idiot As a fighter showed his grit
What was he doing rolling around on the floor after the 'headbutt' then? And what exactly was he doing running out of the arena crying after his first official loss?
I don't like his antics and I hope he stops it, but he showed great character to stay in there. The way he was fighting back in the last few rounds despite being badly rocked/knocked down a few times was something I never imagined he could do. He is one tough SOB.
