I'll admit it , the hype that surrounds this guy is absurd as far as i'm concerned. he's got great wrestling but looks one dimensional & has suspect stamina. But at the same time , i'm glad that he's ok , not just for the sport but also for his family...

And i hope he'll keep that belt as long as possible. (because the ufc needs a legit consistent champion)...

I don't like Dana white's style...but ufc's ratings are primordial for this sport. We already lost pride fc , and i'd hate to see the ufc go the same route. (but considering how greedy these guys are , it's not likely to happen imo)

:good You make a lot of sound points and like you, despite not being his biggest fan, I am just glad that he is ok! It looks as though it has taken quite a lot out of him, I wonder when he will be fit to return?

How is the hype absurd? The man has 5 fights, is the UFC hw champ and has wins over Couture, Herring and Mir.

The man is an unstoppable truck, pure and simple. Let's look at the invincibles today - BJ, GSP, Silva and formerly Machida. None of them did what he did in 5 fights. Let's look at the heavyweights who won the title with less than 4 fights - only 3 in 19 suceeded so that says alot.

How is he one dimensional? He has excellent wrestling but why are people completely overlooking his hands? He dropped or stopped Herring, Couture and Mir with his hands both standing and on the ground.

In Couture and Mir he has faced excellent grapplers with very good hands.

Lesnar has many mountains to climb but what he has done so far is nothing short of sensational. He seems to have a very abrasive character but give the man his props.

He certainly has tunnel vision. The hype train derailed against Mir but he got straight back on track and beat the **** out of people. Most guys would implode and fold under the pressure.

For me the hype is absurd because a majority of people are talking about this guy as not only a fedor-killer , but also , as some unbeatable monster. Which he certainly isn't.

What he did against Heath , Emelianenko did it a few years back (only it was more brutal )...What happened in his fight against Couture showed two crucial things.

1 - his stamina is very questionable. (he showed signs of fatigue in no time). And that's probably because...

2 - surprisingly enough , the much smaller randy was holding his own and at times even outpowering him. (i'll admit it , i was very surprised by this , i was expecting a guy of lesnar's size to crush randy).

Yes, he's big , he's athletic , he's strong , & happens to be a great wrestler. But i don't see anything else. What he did to Mir , (something Ian Freeman did better)...wasn't shocking either. Let's not forget that Mir's best career achievement is his 2008 victory against Nogueira. (sorry but this wasn't the 2003/2004 nog we're talking about , he even looked bad and almost got finished by a washed up heath in their 3rd fight ).

Knowing all this...I find the hype surrounding this guy to be god-like..(or fedor-like)...and yet he only has a 4-1 record. I think fans have a short and selective memory imo.

Having said all that , i'm still hoping to see him improve (i think he's one dimensional and will get subbed as soon as he'll be confronted to a guy who doesn't panic on the ground....In other words , the anti-Frank Mir)...the problem is that this guy is a shadow of his former self (nog)...(though he had a fantastic fight against Couture) , still the guy is shot.

Maybe i'm wrong...I don't say i'm 100% right , it's just my opinion..Based of what i've seen so far , i personally find the lesnar hype to be ...too much. He's a capable fighter , i'm not denying it , but that's about it.

I think i'm being reasonable. i'm ranking him somewhere in the top 10 (even with his 4-1 record)..

If we are all honest, none of us really see any other Fedor beaters. Brocks the new number 1 guy to dethrone him.

He has dominated all his opponents. Even Mir was getting hurt up before locking the sub. The Couture fight was give and take but he put him away convincingly and it was his 4th fight!

I think its fair to say that everyone is in awe of his potential, much like they were when he was just a wrestler.

I think you are finding too many bad points and not really looking at the fact that he has only had FIVE fights against WORLD CLASS opposition. That is really all there is to it in my eyes.

Werdum has a ''submission'' chance vs Fedor..
I know it's very slim, since we know Fedor destroyed Nog, but who knows.
Some thing more crazy did already happen..

Werdum is a good all rounder. He's got good boxing and good bjj.

Fedor is amazing but in Werdum we are talking about a serious contender with wins over Gonzaga x2, Erikson, Overeem, Emelianenko, Vera and Silva.

In MMA fans are always looking for big fights which is great but impossible to do fight after fight. Fedor must build his legacy on beating top contenders and at present Werdum is about as good as it gets for a good solid defence.

I get why people don't like Lesnar, because he is Jockman and it can be annoying.

I don't mind Lesnar, but he needs to fight, so its good he is back.

In a statement made today by Dana White, the illness isn't over for Lesnar and should he require still another operation he may not be back until 2011 ,if at all.

These are completely overblown, his stamina is not questionable because he looked slightly tired after grappling two solid rounds with one of the most technical wrestlers in the game.

He wasn't gassed, he wasn't breathing hard, he just looked like it was the second round of a fight against a very active opponent.

Like i said earlier.. "it's just my opinion" , to me , he clearly seemed gassed , i'm still waiting to be blown away by the guy. (his most impressive victory so far was against Frank Mir).

I don't think i'm actually pissed by his arrogance... But more by noobs , wwe fans & dana..

Remember these post fight comments of his ?

“Frank Mir had a horseshoe up his ass and I told him that a year ago. I pulled that [expletive] down and I beat him up. Whooo!…I’m going to go home tonight and drink a Coors Light because Bud Light won’t pay me. I’m going to sit down with my friends and family and hell i might even get on top of my wife tonight.”

Personally ? i wasn't bothered one bit by these comments..(but maybe that's because i don't like Mir)... I also thought it was hilarious seeing Lesnar encouraging fans to boo his ass. He is , ufc's villain. But it's so over the top that it doesn't **** me off. on the contrary...

I find people like Matt Hugues & Mir to be way more arrogant.

No , i think it all boils down to Lesnar's hardcore fans (or ex-wwe fans) & Dana White. (who would do and say anything for money , Kimbo slice is the living proof of that too)

I am not a fan of the guy but this is just sport at the end of the day, I hope he gets healthy, comes back and is able to fight at his best again. I still want Fedor to come kick his arse though :D
