There were a few pundits in the UK mentioning he'd said he would KO brook in 1 round on mic during the behind the ropes. True or not i feel thats what he intended to do, once that didn't happen i think we saw a fighter who cannot adapt and i can't help but feel what iv seen oscar saying in the past is true, he cannot fight going backwards. Problem is there's nobody strong enough at middle to do it, it'l take a bigger man which is why i think they're reluctant to move up just yet. Once he's stood in front of somebody with a good chin and able to stop him pushing them back he'l lose i feel, i know people will claim he's a great boxer too but he isn't. He can box well, he has a goodjob but i think we saw vs brook he will struggle vs athletic guys, guys who go to ropes and dont just hold there gloves up and allow him to hit them.

It's pretty clear to all why they avoided ward. Brook was doing well up until his eye went & then the size and power of golovkin became too much. ward wouldn't be pushed back and he's bigger, more athletic and has great punch variety.

Ward is possibly the top p4p fighter in the world, and he's larger than GGG.

Nobody expects fighters to go upwards in terms of weight and p4p skills at the same time. Alvarez and Brook are bigger than GGG, but nobody's asking them to fight Ward.

    Isn't that good you say?

Which current day fighters you got beating GGG at 160 pounds? Fell free to list the names...

he obviously didnt look so good

i was surprised how easily brook was able to hit him

if it was a regular middlweight with power this would be interesting

    jacobs could hurt him bad

but the thing with ggg is he seems to have a good chin

but he shows he can be outboxed by a good boxer

I cannot help read some of these posts and wonder what people are watching?
I just deleted a lengthy counter response to this dumpster fire of a ppst, laughed and though: Why did I even bother? Then went back to enjoying my beer!

If GG says that he wasn't sick then I believe him. Brook was a smaller guy so naturally he would have a speed advantage. You don't box those guys. You go search and destroy and GG did that, and he did it in style. Hagler made the mistake of boxing Leonard early rather than just walk in like he did against Hearns.

Sometimes I just have to quote the more metaphysically dimwitted things I see posted!

This little gem makes Blizzyboon's garbage seem sane.

No surprises as far as I'm concerned,I already knew how good good Golovkin is and Brook showed he could be one of the best at 154,that Golovkin chose to scrap instead of the jabathon that broke Lemieux is more to do with Golovkins thoughts on Brooks power.

Brook's naturally bigger than Golovkin, though. This has been pointed out many times, even by Kell himself. His normal, walk-around weight is something like 175, while triple g is more like 167-170. Brook was just killing himself getting down to 147-154, before this fight.

The thing that hurt Kell was that his power didn't translate against a real middleweight. His speed is great for his size, and his boxing ability is obviously elite. The fact that he showed heart was his biggest accomplishment, in my opinion. As a casual Kell fan, it made me have even more respect for him, and care more to watch him again.

Brook wasn't bigger than GG. When they entered that ring, you saw the clear size difference. Brook had the bigger legs that's it.
