I don't think any trainer can change his ways now. Once a fighter has gone on so long fighting the same way, it's very hard for them to change. I don't think he's capable of learning. And i was a big Khan fan when he was rising to the top. I feel everytime he steps up in competition he will get hurt. There will be no dramatic change in him if he moves up in weight either. He had trouble with Maidana, had trouble with Peterson, couldn't finish off C level Mcloskey, and couldn't knock out Malignaggi properly. His speed is the thing which he relies on and it's often the first thing to go. He will never be able to adopt a strong defense without some help by other means. The best defence he will ever be capable of is how he was against Maidana. He is not naturally a 147 pounder as most think either. He is a 140 pounder and should never move up in weight. When he uses a highguard and moves in and out with fast punches, and then moves out again is a stupid tactic. He never paces himself. Even when he doesn't go for a knockout, which he tries to in nearly all of his fights. He never ever slows down. If he did this and not go toe to toe he would do much better at 140 pounds. He has no killer instinct either. And will never have the killer instinct to make him elite. We will see him knocked out more often now aswell. It's a curse. Fighters will know what to expect.
Realistically khan needs to avoid huge punchers and look to cash out. He wont imrove his chin and everytime he will face someone with power it will be a liability, no matter what he does. Take on some feather fisted ****s then cash vs normal powered guys where you have a good chance to win, he could survive that and make money, eventually keep stepping up get ko'd a last time and take your millions and retire, there is no legacy reward in it for him, he cant make it.
He is way to easy to time, he has really good speed but what good is speed when you throw the same damn combination so repetetively? run in throw a combo jump out then repeat, that's all he does, and thats why you usually see him have success at first but its just a matter of time before his opponent figures his timing out and once they do they start landing and once they start landing its lights out
absolutely right about the legacy part. He can be like a reverse pauli malinaggi. Speed good chin no power. Amir would be speed power and no chin.
Physically, he needs to learn how to defend himself. He can't grow a chin, so he'll always be vulnerable to punchers unless he ups his defensive game. Mentally, dude just seems weak. He did a whole lotta whinin after the whole Peterson thing, more than he was entitled to, which was actually a lot. Then this **** about blaming his loss to Garcia on Roach. He comes off as a softy.
Khan fights Hatton/Brook in England. Fights Paulie again at 147 to take his belt. Challenge Alexander for his belts (since he's about to have two after baily). Once Khan has 3 belts, he'll start his stupid crap about wanting to fight Floyd again, but by this time, Floyd might be retired by then, but still might take another money fight in England, collect that check for easy day's work.
Lots of ways back Fight everybody he has lost to (Prescott, Peterson, Garcia) @ 140 He can beat all of them Get a fight with Malignaggi or Brook ^^
No one could see him reaching to top after the defeat to Prescott, intill he looks a shadow of himself don't rule him out.
When was he at the top? Poorly skilled fighter with too much of an ego to grow. The fork has been stuck in before Garcia got to him.
