All reports from the Filipino press say Nonito is already in preparation for this fight. Apparently the winner will get the winner of Darchinyan-Arce for all the marbles at 115.

    Thoughts?

if donaire wins I dont see a Vic-Donaire II fight

and im not liking Donaire's chances any more, I didnt like how he looked in his last fight,he dropped his trainer and is moving up a weight class to fight a very good experienced fighter.

****..I missed this...I didnt think this was on but I was hoping to see it happen.

I thought Donaire was injured from his last fight.

Going to be a great fight I reckon...Montiel to pull it out and to knockout Vic aswell ..an out there call but Ill run with it until proven wrong (which part of me thinks I will be)

Wait a minute. How would that be "all the marbles" at 115?

Mijares needs to be in that conversation. Whoever comes out of that round robin - Montiel, Donaire, Arce (ESPECIALLY Arce), or Darchinyan - would all need to beat Mijares (in Vic's case, for a second time) to cement their position at the top of the heap. You can't just casually dismiss the man for losing badly to Darchinyan, as Darchinyan lost badly to Donaire (so even if Montiel beats him and Darch beats Arce and Montiel, he would STILL need to avenge his loss to Nonito...and, IMO beat Mijares again to erase any doubt), and Arce lost badly to Mijares (so even if by some miracle he beat Darchinyan and the winner of Montiel-Donaire, he would need to avenge his loss).

There are five guys at the top. Three fights doesn't settle ****. :deal

Is the fight official yet? I knew there were talks and that Roach wanted to train Donaire for the fight, but didn't know if it was 100% finalized.. Donaire may have not looked his best against Mthalane, but he did have some ring rust after some inactivity due to his promotor.. Gary Shaw wasn't it? Anyways, I like Donaire's chances in this fight and I expect him to look as good as ever when he steps into the ring with Montiel.. I really would like to see Donaire fight Darchinyan for a second time just so he can KO him once more and take all his titles.. Whatever the case though, someone in this division is going to be a unified champ and it's going to be either Darchinyan, Donaire, or Montiel.. I really don't think Arce is going to win against Darch..

When is the fight schedualed? Junior bantam is getting crazy

    Donaire, Mijares, Vic, Arce, Montiel.

    Its a big party.

    Yes it does.

Mijares won WBC, and WBA. He then LOST to Vic for unification with his IBF belt. Therefore, even if Mijares was stripped, Vic would basically be de facto owner of all 3 belts. The 4th belt is owned by Montiel. Therefore, YES, winners of these "semifinals" if you will...will be undisputed at 115.

If these fights go down, it will be reminiscent of the middleweight tournament Don King had back in 2001 when:

    SEMIFINALS:
Hopkins beat Holmes for WBC & IBF
    Trinidad beat Joppy for WBA

    FINALS:
Hopkins beat Trinidad for all 3

New weight class. New champion. What Donaire did at 112 is inconsequential when determining who the man at this weight is. And right now, Darchinyan and Montiel are 1 and 2, if not 1 and 1a.
