I don't see how Calzaghe is going to beat Dawson.

    Deepest resume of losses. :deal

Johnson is old and an extremely limited fighter, anyone who gets beaten by Clinton Woods (and yes he did lose their third fight before you try playing the robbery card) cannot be considered a high calibre opponent. Learn about Johnson's career before spouting off this type of nonsense.

Johnson is a tough out for anyone, including Hopkins and Calzaghe at this stage.

There are too many extremes on this thread. Each fighter, Calzaghe and Dawson, would trouble the other. I'd favor Calzaghe to win, but wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way.

The key would be how much improvement Dawson could make to his defense.

glenn looked really good in there against chad I thought. The problem with glenn besides his age is that he will have some really off nights where he looks awful. See tarver glenn 2 for an example.

Lets not forget johnson is 1-1-1 with clinton woods :patsch johnson is a good solid fighter but he lost omar sheika

Ive got a lot of respect for johnson but he is not an elite fighter for gods sake, he is a good solid top contender winding down his career.

Now why is it every time calzaghe is going fight some one then there is no way he can win.

Was going to get ko'd by the unstoppable lacy, who was left an absolute shell of himself after joe schooled him in a fight that should of been stopped.

Kessler was going to win and he didn't and in this fight joe unifed the division

Hopkins spoilt and made calzaghe look bad but the result was the same and the man is in his eleventh year as super middle weight champ, undisputed middle weight champ and ring belt holder at 175 ilbs.

well he must be doing something right 45-0 with 32 ko's facing 9 former or at the time reiging world champions.

plus two division world champ at the same time not bad going if your man dawson can acheive half of his 20 title defences he would of done well.

If he unifies a division and then wins ring belt in another division then hey he is right up there.

stop all the hate joe c is an atg no matter what the haters say :deal

People are forgetting how smart and adaptable Calzaghe is. He will have seen how Dawson went life and death with Johnson, and looked horrible against the pressure fighter. He will put put educated pressure on Dawson, in and out with flurries. He will be faster and give better angles than Johnson too...

Dawson will take a lot of punishment in this fight. However, the longer Joe waits the more chance I give Dawson

A 43 year old Hopkins is in the same league as a 39 year old Johnson, sorry if it hurts your feelings.

Now go get yourself banned again. :hi:

Dawson would box Kessler's robotic ears off.

Dawson beat Johnson, deal with it. You sound like one of the Hopkins apologists.

Calzaghe is opting to fight Roy Jones who Johnson already knocked out cold.

Dawson couldn't hit a barn if he was standing right in front of it

    Calzaghe will whoop him

I'll say this much.. if Calzaghe is going to win this fight he's going to have to play the stalker and walk Dawson down, which that in itself is going to be a difficult task especially at this point. There's no way Calzaghe will outbox from the outside.. not even a prayer. And Calzaghe is not going to be able to steal rounds with feather fisted flurries either as Dawson himself is a good combination puncher.

As I said.. Calzaghe's only logical plan will be to walk him down, which isn't going to be easy for him. There's a big difference between Glen Johnson's brute physical force and Calzaghe merely coming in at certain angles and attacking with pitty-pats, he's going to have to do a little something more to command much respect out of Dawson.

    I pick Dawson by UD.

I'd pick Kessler to stop Dawson.

I would pick both Kessler and Tarver to beat Dawson.

Dawson looks lazy, weak defence and dodgy chin. he looks great in spurts and can let combos go and has good lateral movement when he choose to use it, but Johnson exposed some flaws in Chad dawson that a fighter as good as Joe Calzaghe would only highlight further.

Tarver and Dawson should fight each other, then maybe the winner getting Calzaghe.

At this moment in time Tavrer is a bigger possibility than Chad and Pavlik is an even bigger possibility!
