He has good footwork and movement granted but not at Andre Ward or even Dirrels level. I think Froch has the jaw to take any punishment Groves can dish out and Froch will hurt him at some point when that happens we all know how well Froch can finish it will be lights out for Groves. I don't see this going past 8 rounds personallyand think its 4 / 5 fights to early for Groves who should have looked to take Bika's title first and mixing it at world level a bit more first before taking this fight.
I have backed Groves in this one and I won't be changing my mind. I feel he is ready to expose Froch. Froch almost lost against Taylor and got a lucky win over dirrel. Groves did a better job on Johnson that Froch also.
Frochs head is easy to hit and Groves does pick his shots well and looks like they have some power in them, all depends on how much father time has caught up with Froch after all them wars. The nearer the fight has got the more i'm sitting on the fence
I think Frochs skills are underrated he can box on the outside, also do you think Groves has more power than Kessler ??? I dont see it personally,
There are 4 possible stategies open to Groves that we've already seen will work to defeat Froch. The 4 Stategies are: Jermain Taylor: Back up Froch by using better footwork and hand speed and most of all out jabbing him. Froch can't fight on the back foot and by keeping him off balance it stops him from planting his feet and landing his heavy shots. The problem with this stategy is that it uses up alot of stamina as Taylor found to his cost and unless you have great cardio to do this for 12 rds and the natural athletic gifts Taylor had it's a bad stategy to take. Andre Dirrell: This Stategy also calls for quick hand and foot speed. It's the hit and move stategy, in and out style which Groves has already employed to effect against Degale. I see this as the Stategy that George will employ but a slightly more agressive version of it, as we saw during the Dirrell fight when Andre did start opening up in the 11th and 12th rds he hurt Froch and nearly dropped him. Mikkel Kessler: This is just a stand your ground in the middle of the ring and have an all out war Stategy, this is probably the worst stategy that Groves could employ especially as he doesn't have the chin to survive going toe to toe with Froch. Andre Ward: The Get inside and rough up Froch Stategy. Ward is a master at getting inside any boxing style and then roughing up his opponent and smothering their work. Also Ward's body work is great and the occasional headbutt for good measure will also do the trick. Terrible stategy for a fighter like Groves who has no real inside game. So for me it's the 'Andre Dirrell stategy' that GG needs to employ versus Froch to have any chance at all.
I agree that the best chance Groves has of winning is the Dirrel gameplan but without Booth in his corner I could see him losing his cool and will start to trade with Froch, then he gets stopped.
Froch doesn't hit hard enough IMHO his power is overrated. Groves should be able to take his shots, just as long as he doesn't take too many of them.
This.Froch tries to act tough as nails but in reality he fights like a robot with minimal skills. He can easily be outboxed.
Amazing how on here Froch is now average or even trash and Groves is now better than Froch. Groves can't win because he hasn't got the skills of a Ward to outbox Froch for the 12 and hasn't got the chin to out brawl or win in a war. Froch stops Groves. Groves winning by KO?, Froch getting stopped would stun me.
If Groves wins it will likely be by the skin of his teeth and maybe controversial but Froch must take him seriously
He is taking him seriously, he just would be rather having another fight instead of Groves. He wants bigger fights at this stage of his career. He told the press that he wanted Groves to win a title (WBO) first so this fight would be a unification fight and a bigger fight.
I don't think people do overrate Frochs power but he certainly does hit hard enough,he is heavy handed. Just because he had a run of fights which went the distance all against good solid men doesn't mean he lacks power. He certainly hits hard enough to take Groves out.
Froch does'nt look himself , i think there is a chance Groves up sets him , he will be faster and beat Froch to the punch , am going for Groves to win by KO near the end
