Going off his late fight, Froch looked slow and sluggish after the fourth, stopped boxing to a clear gameplan and whilst won, it was damn close against someone who whether you like it or not is someone that has massively faded. Groves is the unknown in this for me. I expect Froch to win, but we all know exactly how he will fight, there will be no variation to his performance. Question is, having boxed beautifully against DeGale, is Groves capable of doing the same to a much higher level?
Froch is so ungamely and awkward and rangey that it throws opponents off. However GG has already sparred many, many rounds with him in the gym...
At some stage in this fight Groves abandon his game plan and will get drawn into a brawl, as he usually does, only this time his opponent is more experienced, stronger, tougher and fitter than anyone hes fought before. When this happens its goodnight George! And it would be no surprise to me if this happened early due to the occasion and adrenaline overwhelming Groves......Froch TKO.
I just think technically he's not up to the task and that includes punching technique. And many people overrate his power, including of course, first and foremost Froch himself.
Groves will start fast and I expect him to nick the first couple of rounds, but when Carl establishes himself and gets his range, he will stop a groves.
anyone who think Froch hasn't got enough power to "Chin" Groves must be a hater as there's no other explanation.Froch's power and Groves's shaky chin = likely KO.
In some ways I can't see why some people don't see this as a ppv event,it certainly is especially for British fight fans........Froch is a bloody good fighter,as I have said before nothing to prove in my opinion.......Groves is a great up and coming prospect.....I believe at some stage he will get a world title. The imponderables here are what makes this a fascinating fight to which I will be glued as Hearn said the other night what we don't know is has George improved and by how much..and let's face it at this stage I think he should still be doing. And in tandem at his age and this stage is Carl just starting to move down the hill, even ever so slightly. If these things are moving who can tell?I really like em both the title stays in England.....what's not to enjoy
You are just the type of fan Hearn is looking to use and abuse with his BS hype. How can't you see that Groves isn't good enough to beat Froch?. His Chin will be shattered within 5 rounds.
There's a few idiots on here who think he has no power and has no chance of KO'ing the shaky Groves. makes me laugh.:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
she read the post carefully old chap, I don't think I said anyone would win cos I don't know.....I like both these lads.Dont let your obvious favouritism blind you to the fact that this is a very interesting fight, one where may honestly say the best man will win on the night!I think Hearn Snrwas right in this case highlighting that one of the factors may be an improvement in Groves...then again it may not....that's why I can't wait for the fight
If Groves boxes long and negatively off the jab there is a possibility he could steal the fight. The problem is Froch will wind Groves before and during the fight and I can see George getting involved thats when he will lose.
Absolutely, of course he does. This is the sort of fight where Groves by jabbing Frochs head off and fighting boring could win the fight but he wont win many fans in the process.
Very fair point,if Carl is still at the top of his game do you think George has the ability and experience yet to keep him at bay for twelve rounds with those sort of tactics?
