From the member claiming Mikey's gonna surprise vs Spence.

    Priceless.

You can't be a warrior if you're afraid to get inside because you don't want to get hit.

Mikey has ability. But a balz-to-the-walz warrior he obviously ain't.

Anybody saying Mikey ducked Loma is living in a dream world. Both linares and Loma took the less dangerous fight. Both clearly ducked Mikey.

In case you don't know or just don't realize, Loma has just began fighting in 135 two months ago. For that certain amount of period, any accusation of him ducking fights would be inaccurate and absurd.

And if he did take less dangerous fight like you said, he probably would take the easier way by snatching the WBO belt from Beltran. It's much easier as he was the organization's champion in the lower weight class. But no, he fought Linares instead, the Ring champion of the division. And among all Lightweight champion, Linares was probably the most serious of wanting the fight to happen. The negotiation went very well though it got stuck when Golden Boy disagreed over the fight date. And it was Linares who pushed it hard for it. So it's not Loma's fault, that Mikey didn't jump out offer the fight to Loma just like Linares did.

I like both but if the fight happens I'll be cheering for Mikey because he will be the big underdog and is daring to be great that is what the sport is all about.

    Likely, yes.
But again, the lack of head movement was evident. It was also evident vs Lipiniets.
Even if you go way back to the Salido fight, it was Garcia's lack of head movement that got him in trouble later in the fight. He had the footwork, he had the jab, he had the perfectly timed counters... but Salido still found that head because it was always on the line, standing straight up.

I actually agree with the spirit of what you're saying, and concede that I personally do give Garcia a better chance against Spence than I gave Brook against GGG, in large part for the reasons you stated. That said, however, I don't think the comparison is outlandish as you apparently do. I maintain that Garcia jumping to welterweight to face Spence is a ballsy, but yet questionable move at this time. I don't like the play here. I think he should be trying to do what he can to secure the Lomachenko fight.

Mikey is competitive against anyone up to 147 , not sure he beats them all but no one dismantles him.

I think he loses to Loma just. Loses to Jr wide and I think he beats Crawford.

I hear what you're saying and I took all that into consideration before coming to my conclusion. Fact is that Mikey is no Duran, Mosley only gave up height not weight. As he stated himself, he was bigger than Oscar in amateurs. Pac's talent and skill far outstripped Margarito's, everybody knows that Martinez was literally on his last legs and La Londe was a bum from day one. Each division that Floyd fought in, he was ideal for than division. He never put himself in the position that Mikey is putting himself in, Plus Mikey definitely ain't no Floyd. Everything he brings to the table with Spence is matched or exceeded by Spence. He is going in there on a wing and a prayer but Spence has no mercy and will be relentless in his destruction of Mikey.

I want to see him fight Lomachenko too, and I agree that should be the priority. The problem is 3 fold :
    1) Lomachenko is recovering from shoulder surgery and is supposed to be out for the rest of the year. Mikey wants to stay active, he can't wait around for Lomachenko to recover from his injury.
    2) Until recently, Arum has expressed zero interest in making the Mikey Garcia fight. I remember one interview where Bob snapped at a reporter for asking him about making Mikey vs Lomachenko. Bob seemed to literally get aggravated at the thought of making the fight. So if Bob is now open to it, then great, but he wasn't not too long ago.
    3) The ESPN+ deal, how do you make this fight when TR Fighters are fighting on ESPN or now this ESPN+ App? Mikey is fighting on Showtime and is apparently on the verge of main eventing a Showtime PPV event vs Spence.

Do you expect him to throw away the opportunity to fight on Showtime PPV for the weltweight Title to fight on some App vs a guy who's recovering from shoulder surgery whose promotor until recently was not interested in making the fight?

Mikey can set himself up for a nice cash out soon.

Get ripped by Spence and feed the corpse to Loma on ESPN.

call it a day and train amateurs or whatever the **** he wants to do.
