I don't see what was so special about Mayweather vs Gatti?

Although it was a long time ago, Pacquiao did viciously stop an ATG who was on an 8-fight winning streak. Name me a Floyd win that can top that...?

I think it's probably the manner in which Floyd beat Gatti - I understand that Gatti was well past his prime and didn't have the tools to compete with Floyd technically, but Floyd didn't make it the boring, technical fight that most people expected. We rarely see Floyd open up offensively like that, and when he does it's pretty incredible to watch, regardless of the opponent. I think people make such a big deal about it because it was totally contrary to Floyd's typical style of fighting (stick and move, shoulder roll, etc.). When people like Tito or Manny beat an overmatched opponent that way, it's not as surprising because they were both more willing to mix it up with previous opponents.

It was a great win. I'm not going to debate about this because Barrera and Morales have been pumped up to god-like status by *******s and any attempt to normally discuss caliber of wins will be blinded by this.

I just don't see the point of people who hate Floyd starting a thread and discussing a Floyd fight from 6 years ago.

It was a horrible performance by Gatti. If they would fight 100 times Gatti would only win 2. Arturo had no defense. He kept his hand down ffs. Even Sergio could not do that against Mayweather.

Your the one who brings pac in this thread, that guy only made a thread asking about a mayweather win, doesnt automatically make him a *******, He just like other floydfights better when it comes to displaying his skills and has his questions about the common view on this gatti fight. No need to be so butthurt about it and make the thread go pacweather.

TS is a Mayweather hater as are most of the posters in the first page of the thread.

Whatever, I'm out of here and will let you queers bash Floyd's resume and wins since it seems to bring you so much enjoyment.

    Peace

All your posts today in the lounge are about "character" and how great you are.

Quick lesson for you , Susan. People of great character don't have to go around telling others how great they are.

    Get a life. :deal

i dont tell anyone how great i am. neither do i take cheap shots at people online.

if you had any you wouldn't have to do that.

EDIT : i'm not talking out of ego. i'm talking out of life experience. that's why you're here talking about "*******s" in that earlier post as if it really matters.
    it doesn't.

like i said, grow the **** and move on.

Actually, many people thought it would be a blowout. I recall Max Kellerman stating early in the HBO-PPV telecast that he felt Mayweather-Gatti would be the biggest PPV mismatch since Lewis-Tyson. I also recall reading similar views from many boxing fans and writers prior to the fight.

And David Diaz also was a beltholder on a 5 fight winning streak when Pacquiao fought him in his first fight above 130 pounds. If you want to get technical, Pacquiao has fought an opponent on a 5 fight winning streak more than recently than Floyd has.
