I don't think Floyd beats this Canelo Nearly as easily. These Canelo's are so different.

    Easy work?

A 36 year old, 150 pound Floyd, vs an elite level SMW?

A guy who wouldn’t let Canelo weigh-in at 154 pounds, would suddenly have let him weigh-in at 168 pounds?

A guy who never fought at MW, would have fought against a SMW??

Floyd would never have fought the current version of Canelo at 168.

I know it’s a fantasy fight, but let’s try and be as realistic as possible.

In this specific scenario, Floyd would never have been as offensive minded.

He’d never have been as aggressive or as confident.

He wouldn’t have just picked off a slower SMW.

    It’s ridiculous.

    Of course.

“Lil G would be easy work” said Floyd.

Before he ended his career against Andre Berto and an MMA fighter.

With a 25lb weight advantage, Canelo could win; but that doesn't make him special. Floyd would lose to Benavidez, possibly Caleb Plant, Andrade, etc. So what?

When Canelo was about the same size as Floyd, he challenged him and won maybe two rounds in a 12 round fight. That just doesn't happen to 23 year old, undefeated ATGs with 40+ fights. He showed no flashes of anything.

How can a 23 year old JMW, be the same as a 33 year old SMW-LHW?

Canelo comes forward now. He was still fighting off the backfoot when he fought Floyd.

Canelo of 168 absolutely beats Floyd.

What has a LHW fight against Bivol, got to do with a fight against a 150 pound version of Floyd from 2013?

Mark was telling you what Canelo would have done against Floyd.

    Exactly.

    Why would he have?

That’s not a criticism of him.

    It wouldn’t have been fair.

Yet there’s many on here who believe that the extra weight wouldn’t have changed Floyd’s mentality or his game plan etc.

Floyd was in amazing shape. But not close to his prime.

Floyd was very close to his prime. The man rarely ever took punishment, ducked all the tough fights, and his safety first defensive style was very well suited for longevity. Floyd was blazing fast and ultra sharp in the Clenelo fight.

He wasn’t in his prime when he fought Floyd.

Floyd would not smoke an elite level SMW.

He wouldn’t even let the same guy weigh-in at 154.

Yet you want us to believe that he’d suddenly have let Canelo weigh-in at 168 pounds, before putting in the exact same performance?

    No.

    Get real.

It’s not about him being great.

It’s about how he’d have matched up with Floyd on the night.

Floyd would not easily beat a SMW.

    Get back to reality.

So then why are you arguing?

Nobody is saying that Canelo is the GOAT or better than Floyd on a P4P basis, only that the current version would obviously have been too much for Floyd.
