Floyd has a great chin. That shot from mosley would drop anyone.

That kd from Judah was just like Pavlik's "kd" of Martinez. Not saying it wasn't but had more to do with bad balance.

It's amazing how Mosley is the most dangerous and hard hitting fighter Floyd has ever fought and the next day he's a shot forty year old has been.

A has been who was the number one rated WW in the world.

Totally agree with you. What more do you need in order to show a fighters chin durability? He took a shot on the chin in addition to temple. Only one buckled him grossly. If his chin was "china", the first shot would have given a ringside fan a nice souvenir, Floyd's mouthpiece and HEAD.

flloyd beats them all EASILY. williams would be the toughest because of his height.

    - It must be a good chin - his pain thresold must be quite good.

    - The Castillo fight 1 - where he seriously damaged his shoulder during the fight, but still managed to get a win despite the pain.

    - And, Mosely must hit like a elephant if he KO'd Margarito. And, Mayweather recovered enough.

    - I think his legs were in very good condition, because they stood up to the punches. He didn't go down.

He was already dominated Zab for six consecutive rounds before the choke incident.
At the time, Corley was a good match up. His record was not so shabby in compared to it now. However, he caught Floyd with a shot he did not see in addition to one he ran into.
Lastly, Shane may be 38 but as they say in boxing " The last thing that goes is your punch"

easy. he doesn't take a lot of flush shots from them. however, i don't know if he can beat any of them, but i know none of them can knock him out.

Floyd's chin is, dare I say, very similar to Larry Holmes'. It's not complete concrete but it ensures his brain doesn't shut off completely when he takes a big flush shot from someone with documented power. When he does get buzzed or buckled it's good enough to allow him to maintain enough cognition to take necessary steps to survive until his head completely clears. Plus with his experience he had the instinct to latch onto Mosley for dear life to regain his legs(whereas many other fighters would have covered up or thrown back to gets space)

Floyd has never been hit by a follow up series of punches after being hurt. It's much to hard to even land good on him in the first place. I think fighters like Pac(due to his blistering barrages) and Williams(insane length and volume) could put Mayweather down if they hurt him like Mosley did. The key for each guy though is maximizing their success with what they do best. For Pac it means repositioning for follow up punches from another angle from which he started so that it's hard for Floyd to defend or tie him up. For Williams it means following up from the end of his reach where Floyd actually has to cover ground to tie PWill up....and then throwing an extended series of punches to blanket Floyd.

Tommy Hearns is the one welterweight in history who could possibly KO Floyd off of one shot. He has the length to follow up a hurting shot from out of Floyd's reach, and the hand speed to rip them in like heavy rain. Just look at what he did to Duran, who arguably has an even better chin than Floyd.

I think it's clear Floyd has an average chin, since the few times we've seen him hurt it's been from single shots. However, Floyd makes up for it with excellent surival instincts and recuperative powers. Also helps that his defense is top notch.

You really are showing your inexperience as a poster. Despite Corley's current record, he was a very good fighter who would give anyone hell. Please bear in mind that Floyd was moving up in weight.

I also think the main thing is getting acclimated to being hit. Once you get used to the power. you adjust and are able to handle it.

Case in point is De la Hoya against the juiced up Vargas. Oscar was staggered and put down by Vargas' power shots early, but he adjusted and won.

The moment you start questioning anything about floyd you are automatically labeled a hater or worse a *******, lol. Anyway i undrstand what youre trying to say, but i still think he has a good chin not iron but good enough to carry him thru his fights.

One shot is not SUPPOSED to knock a top fighter down. Just take a look at Margarito. How many times did Mosley hit him flush before he went a little silly? 100? 200? ONE SHOT on Floyd and he gets all silly. That is the poster's point. Yes, Floyd stood up to this, but for cripe's sake... ONE SHOT? And he's all silly? You Floyd fans might not realize this, but there are a whole SLEW of fighters who can trade power shots like that ALL NIGHT LONG without going down or even acting silly nilly dancing on spaghetti legs, even after eating 20, 30, 100 of those types of shots.

Fact is, Floyd's chin is his weakness. ONE shot by Mosley had him silly. One.

Just because you root for a certain boxer does not give you the right to ignore reality and dispute obvious facts. I think Floyd is the best boxer of all time, but he has one of the softest chins of any ATG, Mosley showed that.

Floyd showed a lot of heart standing up to that ONE punch Mosley landed. Heart that he would have never needed if he had a decent chin.
