Of course I wouldnt want titles under seige, but there have been many other champs who have been inactive for longer and had to delay for longer. If it is done for one it should be the same for all or a rule applied. Also if a fighter has an injury or is unwell a recovery period should be allowed. 7/10 people suffer mental illness at some point in their life and if there is a problem, then recovery should be allowed for a certain amount of time. If you dont understand that, then you could be carelessly putting baaxing before a human life
I agree that a fighter should be allowed to recover from a said injury that is preventing them from fighting and shouldn't be stripped. But Fury doesn't have a typical injury, he supposedly has mental health problems and they can't just be fixed so there is no guarantee when he will likely return. But it looks like he's going to be stripped and team Fury are happy for this to happen as long as he has the chance to fight for the title again when he has recovered. But this whole thing sounds dodgy as hell, all he had to do was provide medical records and he wouldn't of been stripped. WBO gave him until 6th Oct to provide this and the WBA have twice requested medical records with no response which makes his accuse for mental health for this latest cancellation look like another lie. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sp...-stripped-titles-Gypsy-King-fight-return.html Either way it looks like Team Fury have accepted they will be stripped and will do nothing to prevent it.
I don't think it's a lie. But the suggestion that he's even seen a doctor or been diagnosed is very possible a lie. Very possibly he's only had a self-diagnosis and amateur diagnoses. But two other points here : - You make an assumption that he wouldn't have been stripped if he had provided the medical records. Perhaps Tyson Fury thinks they were going to strip him no matter what. That's a reasonable thing to believe, because we know the likes of Boente and Hearn - and other boxing promoters in other corners of the world, supported by local boxing boards/commissions, and broadcasters no doubt - have been working around the clock lobbying to get him stripped. - I can see why someone wouldn't want medical records or doctor's report on any mental issues being passed around. If they exist.
You have not read every post and once again passing your thoughts as facts. Also this thread alone is far from everyone
The odds are less then 1 in 10,000 for a false positive for him and hughie to both test positive at the same time is one hundred million to one... it's practically impossible they are guilty.
Maybe it's a lie maybe it's not but based on his behaviour and well known mental health issues in the past which he has been open about I suspect it's as you say, genuine but self diagnosed. Yes it's an assumption but a logical one. If they were going to strip him no matter what they wouldn't have even requested medical records, they would have just stripped him. I agree about not wanting to just hand over medical records especially with recent hacks to WADA and leaks from UKAD. But it's simply part of the course of being an athlete in this kind of situation and most boxers would do whatever it took to keep their titles unless of course there is a good reason to accept being stripped.
He might be the most unknown lineal hvw champion in boxing history. He's a true scumbag. No encore, just prolonged garbage excuse after garbage excuse. When was his last fight? He deserves to be stripped. Has he been injured for over a year? Sloppy special ass.
Ha! How do you know whether or not I've read every post? You always have to be different. I've neither read or heard anybody but you say that this isn't holding things up. How can 2 of the best HW's in the world be inactive for almost a year but not play a part in holding up the division?
