How ******ed are you? Seriously? So you are automatically in your prime when you step up in opposition? How the **** does that work? Guess what? It is possible for promoters/managers to put prospects up in class too late. You think Hatton is the first example of this?!

You think I give a ****? He is not a contender, plain and simple. I'm not about to take it up with **** except for morons who cite that and pretend like it makes him a legit threat.

Just b/c some magazine and a bunch of people who have never fought say Hatton is top 10 p4p doesnt make him great. Boxing fans know that out of Hatton's 45 fights, 40 of them were tomato cans.

He beat a semi-retired Kostya, and over the hill weight drained Castillo.

That sure doesnt make him great.

Urango, Collazo, and Lazcano made him look very regular. A "great" fighter fights great when the competition heats up. Unfortunatley for hatton, we never saw that happen.

So again, he just wasnt that great. being ranked p4p doesnt change that. People who know about his fights know better than to believe some mythical rankings.

Relax homie. You said he wasted his prime years so I looked it up. Based on what you said, your'e right b/c most of those guys are straight up bums.

My problem is that most Hatton fans believe that he was in his prime when he fought Kostya, Maussa, etc...

People want to say their fighter is in their prime when he is winning, but when he loses, they think he is automatically out of his prime.

Don't go overboard, a couple of fighters he fought on the way up were half-decent and would be fringe world-class now, like Magee and, um, okay, actually that's it.

I seriously dislike your definition of the term "tomato-can" though....

i think you are right, but hatton didnt look bad last night, he just did not knock him out like everyone expected, or most at least. he isnt looking invincible though no, and i do believe he can be beaten by someone with a hard punch because he is so open, but at 140 i cant see it happeneing

If i was you id go and rewatch the fight mate. Only Ray Charles would not be able to see that Lazcano was on the verge of a stoppage in the 10th.

I think you're seeing what you wanted to see, rather than what happened.

Firstly, you're not allowed to grab somebody by the head and punch them twice in the ribs, Agreed?

Secondly, if a fighters laces come undone, then the referee should let him get them retied. Agreed?

You mean when he hit Hatton with a couple of illegal shots and then got warned for doing so?

You must see a lot of verges....

And when Hatton does that its ok? How many times did the ref break them up in that fight? Bottom line is Hatton was hurt badly out on his feet and on the verge of a stoppage loss. Rewatch that round again. Then he was given enough time to recover sent to a neutral corner and then his corner was waisting time tieing his shoe laces. Poor referring and a very average performance. Hatton used the exact same tactics vs Floyd. Thats HOW HE fights. All of a sudden the case is diffrent now that the shoes on the other foot.

perhaps, you're right. i do use the term tomato can a bit loosly.

but think about this. you say the guys he beat were half decent and woulbe world-class now, but the fact is that they are not. no one knows who these guys are at all.

if you take someone like Cotto on the other hand though...Look at the guys he beat at 140. Torres was supposedly a bum when Cotto defeated him, but look at him now, a champ. Paulie was a noboday, but look at him now, a champion. Also, Quintana hardly had a name, but look at him now, a champion.

This is just another way to prove that the people hatton fought were scrubs. They are tomato cans b/c they never did anything else after they lost to hatton. Had they went on to accomplish something, it would make hatton look that much better. But they never did, which makes them look like the tomato cans they are.

Who said it was ok if Hatton did it?

If Hatton pulled somebodies head down and then hit them two times, I wouldn't try and claim he was on the verge of stopping the other guy.

He was sent to a neutral corner, because the ref was warning Lazcano for hitting Hatton illegally.....the ref then let them fight and then quite rightly stopped it again, because Hatton was waving his foot in the air, because of the laces.

There was no way Hatton was on the verge of being stopped though, take the blinkers off.
