I don't know if you saw the fight, but mentally Zab did not quit, he actually showed a lot of heart and keep on fighting. Cotto just had those damn low blows he keep throwing everytime Zab started taxing that ass, and Zab couldn't retaliate because of his previous suspension.

Like I said before though, I hope Manny is ready to take some low blows in the beginning of the fight when he starts flurrying, because they are coming.

Can Cotto hit that low? Swinging low blows will tag Manny's chest. :hey

Are you actually saying a weight drained De La Hoya is the equivalent of Cotto?

ya I did see the fight and that was one of Zab's better mental showings for the majority of the fight you are right. But I am more referring to Manny's stone cold focus and overall ring smarts (not just composure)....which Zab does not possess.

I agree with the low blows comment, and hopefully the ref will be watching for this (as they always should). If Cotto lands a couple solid digs on manny's nuts it could seriously turn the tide of the fight.

What ring smarts does Manny have. I respect him but he isn't a tactician. He is not a boxer, he is a high pressure brawler, has he gotten smarter yes, but he is no Floyd or Marquez in the ring.

Cotto can box, he can weakly box off his back foot, and he most definitely can bang the body while taking shots to the head. He did this in the Margo fight and I personally do not see Manny having the ability to evade Cotto after Cotto cuts the ring off on him and forces him to the corner or ropes.

    Who has Manny outboxed?

    Lets see.
    MAB
    David Diaz
    Eric Morales(second and third fight)
    Oscar Larios
    Ricky Hatton
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Jorge Solis

I think you seem to be confused with the definition of brawling. Brawling is all aggression with little technique. If thats true than why does Manny keeps his hands held high, moves his head side to side, and uses footwork to move around the ring.

If you want a a pure brawler than go see Ricky Hatton.

pac just needs to follow the ricardo torres gameplan. get him into a brawl in the early rounds but instead, finish the guy off.

Cotto being the bigger guy and the more cautious fighter after the asswhooping by the hands of Margarito, will simply jab jab his way to victory. No need to put your china chin in harm's way.

 Sorry but you lost all credibility when you compared Zab to Manny. Manny at his best has never been schooled by Carlos Baldomir.

    Two issues:

    1) Zab was never schooled by Baldomir, he lost the fight, but it was withing 3 rounds and he is a natural Jr. WW.

    2) If Manny had as much faith in his ability as you believe he would be fighting at the WW limit of 147, not trying his best to drain a champ.

I will also add that Baldomir, Clottey, Margarito, and Williams would be the last WW that Manny and Freddie would fight. I would say Freddie would leave the division before having to face either one of them.

    1 He's handled southpaws before
    2. he's a natural southpaw himself

I notice theres a lot being added to the Pac mystique and at the same time people are taking away from the Cotto mystique. Generally when I see this happen it always turns out to be a onesided fight in favor of the fighter who was underhyped. Cotto will beat Pac but it wont be an upset because he's the better fighter plus he's bigger. This is IMO a cleverly advertised fight to make Cotto a huge star with the casual boxing fan.

If Cotto's chin was china how the hell did he make it out the fight. Did you see the hellacious shots he was taken. A person with a china chin could not have taken those bombs.
